Weeks #708-709 - Anything Goes

Welcome back to the best challenge blog we could have ever prayed for, Word Art Wednesday!  We're so glad you're here to join us, and we want you to know that we completely realize that our challenges couldn't continue without YOU, our participants.  Each and every entry here at Word Art Wednesday is not only appreciated, but it's also enjoyed.  We're so grateful for each one of you and want you to know that you are genuinely appreciated here.

Our scripture for this word art is Hebrews 13:8 and it says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever".  How beautiful!  These few simple words tell us exactly why we love and trust God SO much.  It's because He (God/Jesus Christ) is the same God right now today that He always has been (from the beginning of time) and that He always will be.  WHO He is never changes, WHAT He said never changes, what He DID on the cross changes us eternally, and His promises are true forever.  What a BLESSING to know that our God, Jesus Christ, never changes and that His truths and promises never change.  I praise God for being the AWESOME God He is, and for being so consistent and dependable.  Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever".

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.  Any entries over that limit will be deleted and will make you ineligible to win.  The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and an encouragement to you as we share it.  If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules found under our Page tab marked "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.   Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're not.  We are simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Please let us know if you have any questions about anything; and thank you for your understanding and participation.

Anything Goes - Weeks #499-500

Welcome back by, everyone!  It's time for a brand new challenge here at Word Art Wednesday, and we're THRILLED to have you join the fun.  We have another awesome sponsor for this challenge, and lots of inspiration.  Thank you so much for coming back week after week to play along with us.  Seeing your cards and projects is such a treat, and we're inspired by each of you.  If you're here for the first time, WELCOME.  We really are super grateful for each of you, and it's our hope that this challenge blog will be a place of encouragement to you.

The scripture used for the word art you see below is Proverbs 18:10 which says "The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe".  Let's break it down.  As I've attempted to explain in the past; when we see the name of God as LORD (all capitals) in the Old Testament, it is referring to Yahweh God (the Father).  When we see it in the New Testament, it refers to Jesus Christ.  Ultimately the same person/God, but He is called by many names - all of which are still God.  Because He alone is God, we are assured that His name (LORD) is a strong tower.  When we dwell in Him, we are safe.  As we grow in our faith, it becomes even more apparent to us that He is our strength and our hiding place or shelter.  The latter part of this verses says "the righteous runneth into it".  We are "righteous" only because He is righteous and He dwells in us.  This is not saying self-righteous, as it's not about us or anything we have done - it's about God living in us and what He has done for us by giving His life for us.  As His children, we learn to run to Him for everything.  And finally, this verse says "and is safe".  This doesn't mean that nothing bad is ever going to happen to God's children.  In fact, most times when we get "hurt" or experience trials, it's because we've stepped out of our "safe tower", we've wandered out into the world without consulting Him, and WHACK!  We get hurt, or troubles come our way.  When it says that "we are safe" when we run to Him, it's reassuring us that He'll always provide a safe place for us because He hears us, He cares about us, and He has everything concerning us under control.  However, it's up to us to make that first step of calling on the name of Jesus (the LORD God) for our salvation, and then abiding in His safety.  I know that I couldn't make it through one day without Him.  I don't even want to think about it.  And most importantly, let's remember that this world is not our eternal home.  We will each spend our eternity in one of two places - in Heaven with Him, or in Hell without Him.  What a joy it is to always feel safe, to feel protected, to feel loved, and to KNOW FOR SURE where we will spend eternity.  Let the LORD be your strong tower.  Run to Him when you need safety, strength and love.  He will keep you safe - today, tomorrow, and for ALL eternity.  Praise God.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges or to win.   We welcome you to share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to the guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation.

Anything Goes - Weeks #392-#393

Welcome back, everyone!  Sorry for another late start.  It's that time of year when we're all travelling, and running around taking care of things.  We do apologize for the inconvenience; but...we're here now, and we have an AWESOME challenge for you all.  Thanks for joining us.

Our word art was created using Colossians 1:10-11.  These two verses hold so much for us to consider.  First, we are asked to "walk worthy of the Lord".  There are too many times when even the most mature Christians will forget their place, and approach the Lord casually.  While He most certainly is our friend, He is also God Almighty, and we are called to walk (live our lives) in a manner that is always pleasing in His sight.  When we stumble, we need to use those opportunities as building blocks....learning from our mistakes, and asking God to forgive and strengthen us so that we can walk a walk that is worthy in His precious sight.  Let's not take our relationships with Him casually.  We want our outward walk to show that we are "being fruitful in every good work"; or simply...that we are using what God has given us for HIS glory, and not for our own personal desires.  Next, we read "and increase in the knowledge of God".  This reminds us that we are never (ever) too smart.  There is ALWAYS something we can learn when we keep our focus on what He is trying to teach/tell us, and time spent in the Word of God (and in quiet time with God) is always going to benefit us. "Strengthened with all might" reminds us that when we seek after Him, God will always give us the strength to do His will.  When you think you can't....remember that GOD CAN!  "According to His glorious power" - He is able.  "Unto all patience and longsuffering" - God gives us the patience to endure all that life has to throw at us.  When we seek Him, He gives us everything we need to handle life's daily trials.  And finally....."with joyfulness"....this is the key to our happiness.  We shouldn't waste our time grumbling and complaining about things we cannot control.  God has EVERYTHING under control.  Let's just purpose in our hearts to be JOYFUL and to TRUST that whatever comes our way, when we're walking with God; everything is going to be ok.

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.
