Anything Goes - Weeks #748-749

Well, here we are in the middle of April already. Where is this year going? Yikes. Soon the temperatures will be up in the triple digits (where I live, anyway) and I'll be stuck inside crafting even more. Wait....that's not a bad thing. It sure is a blessing when you all stop by and share your amazing art with us in our challenges. We have another fabulous sponsor, another lucky winner, a brief devotional to encourage you, and some inspiration to get you started. So with all that said, let's begin.

The scripture of focus used to create our sweet piece of word art for this challenge is Psalm 4:8 and it says, "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety". So many people struggle with sleep issues. For me, this has never been a problem. But for those who do often struggle to sleep or stay asleep, this is a great verse of encouragement. It reminds us that when we place our complete trust in God, He allows us to lay down and to sleep knowing that we are truly safe". These words teach us that as we come to end of each day, we (like the writer, David) have to make a choice to rest in our faith in Him as opposed to letting the anxiety and stresses of life weigh us down and keep us from sleeping. God created us to sleep. God wants us to sleep. God WILL allow us to lay down and sleep when we lay our burdens on Him, truly let go of our worries, and trust Him for the rest. It sounds so simple....because it is. But WE HAVE TO DO IT. God won't just sprinkle a magic dust over us causing us to sleep. Nope. We must end our day by thanking Him, giving it all to Him, and trusting Him to handle what we cannot. When we do these things, the Bible (God's Word to us) tells us that "we are safe and will sleep". I beseech you, dear friends, give it all to Him. Know Him, know His peace, trust Him, rest in Him and be safe, happy and blessed.

Anything Goes - Weeks #724-725

WELCOME! We're so glad you're here with us again. I do apologize for the super late start this time. I'm just going to be honest with you all in saying that I'm a bit stressed. To make a long story short, my parents are aging (87 and 92) and they're struggling a bit. I just got back from visiting them (NV to MN) and my hubby is there now. Someone will have to be there with them from now on, I'm guessing. Anyway, things have been stressful, and your prayers are always greatly appreciated. Nonetheless, I do apologize for another late start. It seems to be happening a lot, and sadly, may continue. God is SO GOOD and I trust that He will give me the strength and ability to get it all accomplished with grace. Praise God! Now......let the FUN begin.

What a darling font used to give us our word art which comes from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 says, "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing". These words have become such a blessing and encouragement to me over the years as I've discovered what it feels like to "pray without ceasing". It's a concept I've undertaken in my daily life that's blessed me tremendously. Now, please know first that I'm not proclaiming to be some kind of super-Christian by any means. All it means is that I've learned to place myself in an ongoing conversation with God where I'm praying all day and all night. I simply keep talking to Him. And unlike my husband, He won't fall asleep on me....He'll listen all night. And not only does God LISTEN to our prayers, but He also HEARS and ANSWERS them. It's easy to moan, whine and complain. It's so much better and so much more effective, however, to PRAY instead. Praying to God is a gift and a privilege, and we can best utilize this tremendous gift by staying in a spirit of prayer all the time. So, you're not literally praying (knees bent, hands folded, head bowed, etc.) without stopping; but you're remaining in a spirit of prayer and communication with God throughout the day 24/7. I hope that makes sense to anyone who isn't familiar with this verse. It's such a BLESSING to talk with God. It will really bless you, too. God loves to hear from us. Praying without ceasing.

Anything Goes - Weeks #702-703

Welcome back to the best challenge blog around! We're so happy and blessed to have you share your amazing creativity with us and we're always so grateful for your participation. The scripture verse of focus is 2 Timothy 2:1 and it reads, "Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus". This verse is not only a remind to each of us that we need to be very strong in our faith, but that we should also be sharing it our children and grandchildren. (ref: my son) You might ask how a person becomes strong (or stronger) in their faith. It's an ongoing process that involves drawing close to God, reading and studying His Word, removing worldly distractions and by living a daily life that is pleasing to Him. As we learn more about God, we draw close to Him and our faith increases. The more our faith increases, the more blessed we become. We are calm, we know our purpose (the purpose God has for us), we feel God's constant presence, and we become very strong in our faith. What steps are you taking in your daily life to help you "be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus"? God's grace forgives us, but God's presence in our lives blesses us. Make today the day you purpose in your heart to do ALL you do for the glory of God. As you draw close to Him, He will draw close to you. Go ahead.....be BLESSED by God and be strong.

Anything Goes - #700-701

Welcome back for yet another FUN and FABULOUS challenge here at Word Art Wednesday. This is, in our humble opinion, the best challenge blog of all. Our scripture of focus in this beautiful word art is 150:6 and it says, "Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the Lord". We often forget to give Him all the praise that he deserves. Let's all do our very best to make an effort to give God praise every single day and in every single situation. He is nothing short of amazing, and we should give Him the utmost respect and let Him know all the time that He is worthy of praise and that we WILL acknowledge Him the way He deserves to be honored and praised.
