Anything Goes - Weeks #692-693

Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday, everyone. We're so glad you're here. Whether you've been playing along with us for years, or if you're brand new to our challenge; we welcome you warmly. We want everyone to know that YOU MATTER TO US, and we care about you. We're happy to pray for you if you have a prayer request. Secondary to our love for the Lord and our desire to help everyone draw closer to Him, we love seeing the amazing art you share with us. WOW! Our scripture verse of focus for this challenge is Psalm 147:11 and it says, "The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy". This is very straight-forward in its meaning. To "fear" God means to KNOW Him, to RESPECT Him and to fully ACKNOWLEDGE Him as the Creator, Author, and Ruler of all things. Realizing that God alone has complete authority over everything, and by submitting our lives fully to Him and His will for us, these things are known as "living in the fear" of the Lord. It's not an intimidation tactic, and God doesn't want us to run and hide from Him in fear. To fear the Lord is more about respect and acknowledgement. When we truly know God, we will automatically have a level of fear and respect for who He is. He is EVERYTHING. Those who place their eternal hope in what Jesus has done for us on the cross are "placing their hope in His mercy". When we know Him, we respect Him. When we fear Him, we respect Him. When we accept His precious eternal gift, we will begin to "fear" Him. These are all things that not only bless us; but they bring joy to God. I want to bring Him joy. He's done SO MUCH for me. So, by acknowledging Him for Who He IS....we bring Him pleasure. What a joy to know that He can be blessed by me. I know that He sure has blessed my life and brought me pleasure. How about you?

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges. We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards). You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. Any entries over that limit will be deleted and will make you ineligible to win. Anything Goes - Weeks #691-692

Welcome, everyone! I apologize for the late start today. As always, we're delighted to have you join us for another fun and fabulous challenge here at Word Art Wednesday. The scripture of focus is Ephesians 3:16-19 and it reads, "That He would grant you, according to the riches in glory, to be strengthened with might by His spirit in the inner man: that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith: that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all goodness of God". This verse was originally written to the Church, but it certainly applies to us, as a church body, and as individuals living for Christ. We're being encouraged here to do our become rooted and ground in love (in Jesus) so that we can fully understand the depths of God's love. When we truly get to the point where we understand His incredible love for us, our joy becomes full, and we are so blessed. The love we have for our children, spouse, grandchildren, friends, etc. is a beautiful thing. But the love God has for us is SO MUCH deeper than that. He suffered and died for us. He did this because He loves us - just the way He created us. You are enough, friends. God loves you and wants to bless your life. Today is a great day to call on Him and ask Him to show you the breadth, length, depth and height of His incredible love.

Anything Goes - Weeks #689-690

Hello, sweet and talented blog friends. We're so grateful to have you join us for another FUN challenge and we're so glad you're here. Seeing your sweet cards each week is so much fun and it's also super inspiring. You're all so talented, and we love seeing the awesome cards you make and share in our challenges. We have so many fun things waiting for you once again, and we truly mean it when we say that our challenge blog wouldn't be what it is without each and every one of you. Thanks for being here.

Our word art comes to us from Psalm 27:13 and it says, "I have fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord, in the land of the living". What this verse tells us is that the writer, David, is singing and praising the goodness of God and his faith in seeing that goodness manifest in his life. You see, when we truly surrender every aspect of our lives to God, we begin to experience the goodness of God in its fullness, and we see the impact of His blessings on our daily lives. Living for God and surrendering to Him fills us with eternal hope, a never-ending love and the promise is His eternal blessings. David, like so many of us, had his faults/sins and he experienced some very difficult times in his life. Just like each of us, when we surrender completely to God, we begin to experience joy, contentment and blessings like we've never known. Without God, there is much trouble. With God, we will still have our struggles; but we'll have His presence in our lives to give us the strength and ability to carry on with confidence and abundant joy. If I can suggest one thing to you, it would be to simply give your life to God, ask Him to sustain you, and allow yourself to experience ALL God has for you.
