Anything Goes - Weeks #635-636

Are you ready for another FUN and FAB challenge?  Well if so, you're in the right place because we've got another awesome challenge waiting for you here at Word Art Wednesday.  We couldn't be any more excited or any happier because you're here to join the fun and that means everything to us.  We want every person who stops by to play along in our challenges that we care about you and that we're here for you if you have a prayer request or special need.  God cares about you and so do we.  We have another really fun challenge ready for you with an amazing sponsor, The Stamps of Life.  There's also some fabulous inspiration, a brief devotional, and a full two weeks to create and link your art for a chance to win this fabulous prize being offered by our generous sponsor.

The scripture of focus for this challenge is 1 Peter 4:8. This verse was both a challenge and blessing for me this week.  My DT-mate, Ginny, sent me the lovely card she created (below) and I really sat there looking at this verse for quite some time.  The verse reads, "And above all things, have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins".  To me, I've always understood this verse to mean that as a Christian, a human, and thus, a sinner; we must remember to always show love and goodness to those whom we offend because in doing good towards them, we demonstrate God's love and we gain back our fellowship with others.  Well, I learned so much as I started to study this verse further.  After studying a bit deeper, I think what it's really trying to tell us is this.  "Above all things, have fervent charity (great love)".  The reason that LOVE is "above all else" is because God is love and God/love is eternal.  Faith and hope, while very important, won't exist for eternity, but love (charity) will because God will and HE is LOVE.  And, if we are truly living our lives rooted in Christ Jesus, we aren't able to sin - against God, against others, or even against ourselves.  The only time we can sin is when we suspend our love for God and people.  So, this verse is reminding us to stay close to our brothers and sisters in Christ demonstrating His love, to be forgiving of them, gracious towards them, and to show them the unconditional and unchanging love that God demonstrates towards us.  This way, we are much less likely to sin against God or others.  I hope this verse is a blessing to you as well.  The Word of God is so rich with truth and power to help us live our lives in the fulness of God's peace, hope and joy.  It sure blessed me, and I pray the same for you. Whatever a verse says to you, rest assured that God's Word will always hold blessings, strength and truth for our lives.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.  The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and an encouragement to you as we share it.  If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules found under our Page tab marked "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.   Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're not.  We are simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Please let us know if you have any questions about anything; and thank you for your understanding and participation.
