Anything Goes - Weeks #738-739

It's always a treat to have you stop by to join us here at Word Art Wednesday, and we have yet another super FUN challenge waiting for you today.  There's lots of inspiration, a fabulous long-time sponsor, a brief devotional to encourage and bless your week (and beyond), and lots of other encouraging elements to share with you all.  Thanks so much for choosing to play along with us.  We value each of you and we really enjoy seeing all the fabulous art you create to share in our challenges.  Best of luck to everyone in the random draw.  You're ALL WINNERS in my book, and I really do PRAISE GOD for each and every one of you.

The Bible verse in focus when creating this lovely word art is Ephesians 5:2(a) which reads, "And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us..." which is just the first half (a) of this verse.  So, what does it mean to "walk in love"?  I would first look to our (perfect) example.  We know that "God is love" (1 John 4:7, etc.), so if we are told to "walk in love", we would need to walk in the way Jesus (God) walked this earth.  Walking in love (as Christ did) would involve us becoming very humble.  Jesus walked in love.....all the way to the Cross of Calvary where He died for our sins.  Surely, I can find a way to "walk in love" in a way that honors Him and points others to Him while I'm here on earth.  This is an "agape" (perfect and selfless) love that God has given as our example.  While we will never achieve God's level of perfection as we walk in love, we do honor Him by living in a manner of lifestyle that pleases God, draws us close to Him, and points other to Him as well.  This world is NOT our eternal home, friends.  We WILL, each and every one of us, spend ETERNITY in either Heaven with God or in Hell separated from God.....FOREVER.  Let's each make the right choice today and every day to "walk in love, to walk with God" and to be someone who lives their life to shine for Him.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries for each two-week challenge.  Any entries over that limit will be deleted and will make you ineligible to win.  The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and an encouragement to you as we share it.  If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules found under our Page tab marked "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.   Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're not.  We are simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Please let us know if you have any questions about anything; and thank you for your understanding and participation.

Anything Goes - Weeks #635-636

Are you ready for another FUN and FAB challenge?  Well if so, you're in the right place because we've got another awesome challenge waiting for you here at Word Art Wednesday.  We couldn't be any more excited or any happier because you're here to join the fun and that means everything to us.  We want every person who stops by to play along in our challenges that we care about you and that we're here for you if you have a prayer request or special need.  God cares about you and so do we.  We have another really fun challenge ready for you with an amazing sponsor, The Stamps of Life.  There's also some fabulous inspiration, a brief devotional, and a full two weeks to create and link your art for a chance to win this fabulous prize being offered by our generous sponsor.

The scripture of focus for this challenge is 1 Peter 4:8. This verse was both a challenge and blessing for me this week.  My DT-mate, Ginny, sent me the lovely card she created (below) and I really sat there looking at this verse for quite some time.  The verse reads, "And above all things, have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins".  To me, I've always understood this verse to mean that as a Christian, a human, and thus, a sinner; we must remember to always show love and goodness to those whom we offend because in doing good towards them, we demonstrate God's love and we gain back our fellowship with others.  Well, I learned so much as I started to study this verse further.  After studying a bit deeper, I think what it's really trying to tell us is this.  "Above all things, have fervent charity (great love)".  The reason that LOVE is "above all else" is because God is love and God/love is eternal.  Faith and hope, while very important, won't exist for eternity, but love (charity) will because God will and HE is LOVE.  And, if we are truly living our lives rooted in Christ Jesus, we aren't able to sin - against God, against others, or even against ourselves.  The only time we can sin is when we suspend our love for God and people.  So, this verse is reminding us to stay close to our brothers and sisters in Christ demonstrating His love, to be forgiving of them, gracious towards them, and to show them the unconditional and unchanging love that God demonstrates towards us.  This way, we are much less likely to sin against God or others.  I hope this verse is a blessing to you as well.  The Word of God is so rich with truth and power to help us live our lives in the fulness of God's peace, hope and joy.  It sure blessed me, and I pray the same for you. Whatever a verse says to you, rest assured that God's Word will always hold blessings, strength and truth for our lives.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.

Anything Goes - Weeks #589-590

Hello, friends.  It's time for a brand new challenge here at Word Art Wednesday and we couldn't be more excited to have you stop by to play along with us.  We just finished up our last challenge and now we have another lucky winner, a new piece of scripture word art. a brand-new sponsor/prize, a brief devotional to encourage you, and some FAB inspiration.  Let's get started right away with this FUN new challenge.

The scripture used to create the beautiful new piece of word art for this challenge is Philippians 3:10 and it says, "That I may know Him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death".  This verse is, once again, pointing us to the blessing and delight that's found only in knowing the fullness of God and WHO He is.  So many people say that "they are religious, or that they belong to this church/religion, etc." but.....I would raise the (very important) question - do you really KNOW God?  Do you know Him in a close personal manner?  There is SO much to be gained from fully knowing WHO GOD IS, WHAT He accomplished for us on the cross and through His resurrection, and ALL that He has for us when we take the time to absorb ourselves in Him.  You see...being part of a church/religion, etc. is very good and very important; but it's NOT everything.  The BEST and most important part of "religion" is truly knowing God, learning all about Him and what He did for us on the cross, through His resurrection, and ALL the amazing blessings that come through always working on building that knowledge and relationship with Him.  Yes, be part of a church, and YES, be involved in fellowship with other believers.  But PLEASE, my dear friends, don't miss out on really KNOWING God and taking just a little time each day to talk with Him, study His Word and get to know who He is, what He's all about, and what He desires for you.  This act of truly knowing God will be the best thing that ever happened to you.  God is the friend who sticks closer than a brother, the only friend who is there for you 24/7/365 with NO exceptions or conditions.  Any stress in your life CAN and WILL be eased by taking time getting to know the ONLY ONE who can change things and cause all things to work together for good.  Talk with Him, get to know Him, and be blessed in a way that ONLY GOD can bless you.  He loves you and is waiting to share Himself with you in a way that will BLESS your life.....eternally.
