Anything Goes - #380-#381

It's time for another fun new challenge here at Word Art Wednesday, and I'm running late!  Thank you all for helping to keep me on my toes.  We all understand that life gets busy, and I appreciate your patience when things run a bit behind schedule on my end.  We have lots of great things planned for this challenge including an awesome sponsor, a brief devotional, winners, lots of great inspiration, and SO much more for y'all, so let's get started.

Our word art scripture is Hebrews 12:2 which says "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God".  When we read these particular verses in Hebrews, the Christian walk is being likened unto a race.  Like any good racer, the Christian must be prepared for the race.  We look to Jesus the "author and finisher of our faith".  He is the one who started the race for us by His perfect example, and He has set the standard for completing the race, and He has perfectly prepared the trail on which we are travelling - even the detours.  The verse also tells us that Jesus is the one who blazed the trail before us....He has prepared the way for us - never sending us into anything that He hasn't already experienced in human flesh Himself.  And another trait every good racer needs is the ability to stay focussed during the race.  The racer doesn't have any distractions with him while racing (no phone, no television, etc.) and this gives us the concept of keeping our focus on Jesus as we race/go through life (staying focussed and centered) with our eyes fixed on securely on HIm.  A good racer keeps his eyes on the trail and doesn't allow himself to be distracted by shiny objects along the way (LOL) - staying focussed on our journey is important.  But the good news is that God gave us an instruction manual (the Bible) to help us find our way when we encounter roadblocks, etc.  This verse also tells us that "He despised the shame" which tells us that He was humiliated and shamed by the experience of what He endured; but He did it because He was the ONLY possible (holy and perfect) sacrifice to endure the cross on our behalf, and we also read that He did it all "for the joy set before Him".  He wants you and I to be part of that joy, and to experience it fully with Him.  And finally, the verse tells us that He "sat down" at the right hand of God.  This "sitting down" signifies that His work on the cross was COMPLETE, so He could rest at the right hand of God - His rightful place.  It shows His holy position, and always signifies that the work was completed.  Wow!  That's a whole lot of wonderful in one little verse.  We are SO blessed to have His precious Word (the Bible) to guide and bless our lives.  I hope this one is a blessing to you this week.

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!

Anything Goes - Weeks #376 - #377

Welcome by!   We're always SO grateful to have you stop by and share your art with us.  We believe that God has given each person very special gifts.  We use our God-given gifts to bless and encourage one another.  And let me tell you, we really enjoy seeing the beautiful creations you share with us, and we praise God for all the amazing talent we see each week.   We apologize that not everyone's blog gets a comment each week.  I'm still having trouble commenting on Splitcoast Stampers.  But please know that even if we miss leaving you a comment, we still peek at your cards and we thank you for taking the time to share them with us.  It means so much to us.   We have another great challenge all ready for you to enjoy, so let's get started.

PLEASE NOTE:  I'm looking for Guest Designers for this year.  If you are interested in being a Guest Designer here at Word Art Wednesday, please type the letters GD after your name in your entry.  Or, you can simply email me.

Our word art was created using the verse Ephesians 2:6 which says, "And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus".  What this essentially means is that once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are "made alive" (v. 5) and in addition to that, we are "raised up with Him" meaning that, in the future, we will be seated along side Him (in heavenly places).   Not only does God give us wisdom, provision and security in this life, but He also promises us that we will be near Him in eternity.   That's AMAZING!   The one true God, creator and author of EVERYTHING, powerful, mighty, sovereign, omnipotent and eternal - He who sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty - has secured a place for us at His precious side.   You see, regardless of what the world might want to believe....there are only two places that every soul WILL spend eternity.  Those two choices are either: 1) Hell:  A dark, endless pit of fire with anguish, gnashing of teeth and eternal torment; or 2) Heaven - in the immediate presence of God, walking streets of gold, living in mansions, walking beside the waters, and seated by His precious side.   I leave you with this question.....where will you spend your eternity?   We WILL spend it somewhere.  The choice is ours to make.

Weeks #370-#371 - Anything Goes

Welcome back for another great challenge, everyone!  WOW, we sure had a lot of amazing entries in our last challenge and we thank you for sharing your cards and projects with us.  I wish that every single entry could win the prize because it means so much to have you link up with us.  We really do wish everyone the very best of luck in the random draws for prizes, and your lucky day will come.  Please know that we are grateful for every single entry that links up with us, and we really enjoy what you share.  We have another wonderful sponsor, lots of great inspiration, and loads of fun you for all - so let's jump in and get started!

Our word art was created using the scripture Deuteronomy 4:39 and it says, "Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else".  This is a great verse for us to consider in light of the fact that it clearly says "there is none else".  There aren't "many different roads that lead to Heaven" as people would like to make you believe, and it really DOES matter to WHOM we pray.  There is only ONE TRUE GOD, and the Bible clearly tells us that His name is Jesus Christ (God the Father in human flesh).  People often wonder why "god" doesn't answer their prayers.  I would again ask....to what "god" are you praying?  It DOES make a difference.  There's only one true God, so there's only ONE who has the power to answer prayer.  It really DOES matter.  In Heaven, on earth, above earth or below it, there is none else.  You will NEVER be disappointed when you call on Jesus Christ - the one true God who really cares and really makes ALL the difference.  Don't let the world fool you and lie to you.  There is none else but Jesus!

Anything Goes - #366 - #367

Welcome by today, everyone.  It's always a great joy to have you stop by our blog to say hello and to play along in our challenges.  We have two fun sponsors, lots of great inspiration, a short devotional, a beautiful scripture file, and lots of fun in store.  So, let's get started right away.

Our sweet word art file shown below is free for you to save if you'd like.  It was created using the verse Psalm 95:6 which says, "O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker".  When we read the words "let us worship and bow down", it doesn't mean that we are unable to worship Him at church or elsewhere without bowing or kneeling.  However, it does clearly tell us that we are to worship, to bow down, and to kneel before the Lord our Maker.  What that means to me is that these are all (three different) things we need to do.  The act of bowing down or getting into a low physical position is an act that shows respect and submission and lets God know that we recognize Him as being worthy of our honor and praise, and in placing our eternal security.  According to this scripture, we should bow down to Him in humble reverence.  We can do this during prayer time, our quiet time, Bible study time, or any time we want to honor Him and show Him this high level of respect.  This doesn't help us to gain God's favor in any way, but it is an outward sign to Him showing our humble recognition of who He truly is....our Maker.  The great Maker of everything.  Yes, it is good to show honor to our mighty and gracious God.
