Anything Goes - Weeks #519-520

Welcome back, everyone, and thanks so  much for joining us.  We're all set for another great challenge and we're always super excited to have you ALL play along with us.  The more, the merrier.  We do our best to get to everyone's blogs; but if we do miss yours, please know that we are always SO super grateful for each and every piece of art linked to our gallery.  We wouldn't have a challenge blog if it weren't for fabulous artist like each of YOU who share your creations in our link-up.  We consider you ALL winners, and we're always super grateful to have you share your talents with us.

Our scripture for this challenge is Jeremiah 15:16 and it reads, "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by thy name, oh Lord God of hosts".  Yum!  I love to devour God's word.  Let's take a look at what this verse is telling us....or at least my best interpretation of it.  The first section reads, "thy word was found".  That's clearly the first step.  We have to FIND it, open it, and STUDY it.  There's NO other book or publication (none whatsoever) that "completes" God's Word or "adds value" to it.  It is COMPLETE, PERFECT, and filled with words to bless your lives and guide us toward the blessed life He wants for each of us.  It next tells us that once it has been "found" and studied, "it was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart".  That's a beautiful and encouraging thought.  We don't always need food to comfort us, alcohol, drugs, entertainment, crutches, etc. to fulfill what our bodies truly need.  Opening and enjoying God's Word gives us much greater joy than ANYTHING this world has to offer.  The reason why is because the JOY we get from God and His precious word is permanent and lasting.  The "joys" of this world (of the flesh) are only temporary and can't ever provide us the true inner joy and peace we seek.  Finally, the verse reads, "for I am called by the name, o Lord God of hosts".  God has called each of us to follow Him.  Where do YOU find your joy?  If it's in anything other than Jesus Christ, it won't last forever.  Eternity is a LONG time.  Today is the perfect day to decide where you want to spend your eternity.  He's calling YOUR name, and He longs to give you the joy and rejoicing of your heart.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computers; but you are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges or to win.   We welcome you to share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to the guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation.

Anything Goes #507-508

Hello, and thanks so much for stopping by again to play along in our FUN challenge.  We have another really great challenge waiting for you all, and we couldn't be more delighted than to have YOU share your art and play along with us.  God has blessed us SO much, and we have another AWESOME sponsor for this challenge, Stix 2 Anything.  We also have a talented new Guest Designer joining us for the month of September, and that's Kailash Naidoo.  Let's get started with our challenge, and thanks again for joining us.

The word art was created using a beautiful verse of scripture, Psalm 91:4, which says "He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler".  This is one of my favorite passages.  I remember first hearing and studying it when I was still rather young; and I recall pondering whether or not it was literal (his feathers/wings and all).  I've come to the belief (me personally) that it's  literal.  Although we are most certainly created "in His image", we also know that He is God (unique in every way) and I just believe that has to be (at least somewhat/somehow) a literal element to this Biblical truth.  What I do know FOR SURE is that it means He (God/Jesus Christ) is AMAZING; and that He will cover and protect us from ALL that surrounds us.  I know for certain that we can TRUST Him completely, and that his TRUTH (that He alone is God Almighty) will be our shield, our fortress, and safe place (from the enemy) and our "buckler" which again means a strong and sure defense.  We can always rest assured that when we place our trust in God alone and seek Him, He is always going to watch over us, protect us, and lead us into what is best for us.  Praise God for WHO He is, WHAT He has done, for HOW He watches over us, and for WHEN He will come again to take us to Heaven with Him FOREVER.  Is the TRUTH of Jesus your shield and buckler?

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computers; but you are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges or to win.   We welcome you to share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. Anything Goes - Weeks #479-#480

Hello there, everyone!  Welcome by again and thanks for joining us.  We're super excited that you're here, and we hope that you enjoy playing along with us.  It's always such a treat to see all the wonderful art that gets linked up and we appreciate each and every entry.  I still struggle with signing in at Splitcoast Stampers and Flikr to leave comments, but I do try my best to get around for commenting; and our entire Design Team LOVEs seeing your wonderful art and creativity shared with us here.  We wish the best of luck to ALL who enter, and we want you to know we consider you ALL winners and wish that we could send everyone a prize.  Thanks so much for playing along with us.  Please know that I do pray for you all.....every one who stops by here....I pray for you and appreciate you.  We're glad you're here.

The scripture for our word art is Psalm 29:2.  This may be a familiar verse to those of you who attend a church where worship and praise music is shared.  The verse was set to music in a song called "Come and Sing Praises", and it's beautiful.  Just listen to these words.  "Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name, worship the LORD in the beauty of his holiness".  If I can ask a question here.....do you ever just say (out loud) "PRAISE THE LORD, PRAISE THE NAME OF JESUS"?  If not, I highly suggest it.  We all know that God is holy and deserves our praise.  But, just like you and I enjoy (and sometimes need) to hear those words "good job", or "well done", "I appreciate you"; our precious Savior, Jesus Christ, also enjoys hearing us give praise to Him for ALL He has done, and continues to do, for us.  Next time something goes well (or, even if it doesn't) just say "PRAISE GOD".  Not only does this bring Him glory, but He enjoys hearing it and it's DUE to Him.  The second part of the verse says "worship the LORD in the beauty of His holiness", and this means having full awareness of WHO He is and realizing that He alone is holy and that He alone is God.  When we really get our hearts into a place where we are able to recognize God for Who He Is, and are able to worship Him in the "beauty of His holiness", we find a wonderful thing - a connection with Him.  It's such a blessing to have a Savior, our God, Jesus the Almighty Creator and author of everything at our 24/7 disposal.  Knowing that we have complete access to Him ALL the time is reason enough for us to give Him praise.  Don't take it for granted.  Getting into the habit of saying "PRAISE GOD" and giving Him the thanks and praise He deserves, and doing it often, is just another tool to use in helping you build your relationship with Him.   Just like any other friend, you need to say THANKS when someone does something nice for you.  God is ALWAYS "doing something nice" for us.  First, He suffered and died, rose again, and went to prepare a place (Heaven) for us, AND He is ALWAYS there for us when we need Him.  Give God the glory and praise that is due to His holy and precious name.  Worship Him in the beauty of His holiness by recognizing Him as the Almighty God and giving Him constant praise.  Not only does it make Him happy, but it will also bring you great joy.  PRAISE GOD.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges or to win.
