Anything Goes - #774-#775

It's time for another fun challenge here at Word Art Wednesday. Can you believe that it's already October? Christmas is like 70 some days away and I'm not ready. How about you? Well, maybe you can get some inspiration to here to get working on some of those Christmas cards. We sure enjoy seeing all your wonderful entries, and we wish everyone the best of luck in the random draw for our fabulous prize from the awesome sponsor for this challenge.

The word art scripture for this challenge comes from Ephesians 6:10 in the Holy Bible. What a treat God's Word is to us. This verse says, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the LORD, and in the power of His might". It's reminding us to lean on God and to utilize the strength He alone offers us. We're told elsewhere in God's Word that "His strength is made perfect in our weakness" and in Psalm 46:1 it says that "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble". God also tells us in Isaiah 41:10 "I will strengthen you and help you, I will hold you with my righteous right hand". As humans, we're going to experience weakness at times physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally, etc. But the good news here is that God knows we're weak. He knows this because He created us. He wants us to lean on Him because He created us to lean on Him for all we need. God reminds us over and over again that He wants to be our strength when we're weak or troubled. The problem is that, far too often, we forget to lean on Him OR...we refuse to lean on Him. Next time you're feeling weak - either mentally, emotionally, physical or whatever...remember to CALL ON HIM and to LEAN ON HIM. When we ASK God to give us strength, He WILL surely give us His perfect strength in every situation. Don't lean on your own power all the time. You'll continue to fail. By allowing God to make us strong, we're able to accomplish all He's called us to do and to attain all He wants to bless us with. Lean on Him, let Him in, and experience the true "power of His might" and the #blessedlife that comes only from allowing Him to be our strength, our hope, our everything.

Anything Goes - Weeks #772-773

Welcome, everyone. We hope you all know that there wouldn't be a challenge blog here without YOU and your willingness to share your art with us. It always makes us happy and grateful to see your amazing art linked up in our gallery. Even if we don't get by to comment on all your entries, please know that we're doing our best. And if we happen to miss yours, it certainly doesn't mean that we don't absolutely appreciate you. Like I said, we couldn't do this without each one of you. YOU are important to us, and we praise God for you and the art/talent you share with us here. You're all WINNERS in our book.

Our scripture word art for this challenge comes from Romans 4:7 which says, "Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered". What this verse is telling us is that we will be "blessed" which is defined as a declaration of divine favor and happiness. Being blessed is not something we earn. Being blessed is a divine appointment from God. The verse goes on to say that "blessed" are those whose iniquities (sins) are forgiven. There is only ONE WAY to be forgiven of our sins. It's not by attending confession at a church or by confessing your sins to a priest. NO man has the authority to absolve anyone of their sins. ONLY God is perfect (blameless and without sin) and only He can give forgiveness of our sins. After all, He's the only one whose forgiveness we need. People will judge, find fault and make assumptions. When God forgives us, it is covered by His blood and He remembers it no more. This is what the last part of the verse ("and whose sins are covered") is referring to here. Not only will God forgive us of our iniquities (sins), but He alone can "cover our sins". He did this by shedding His holy sinless blood on the cross of Calvary, dying in our sinful place, paying the price for our sins, rising again and subsequently bridging the gap between a holy God in Heaven and the pit of fiery Hell we all deserve for our sins. He/Jesus paid the price. He suffered, died, rose again and went to prepare a place for us. ONLY God could do that. How wonderful to know that I don't need to carry around the weight of my sins. I confess them directly to God, I admit my sinful condition and ask Him to forgive me. Praise God! I'm forgiven and God doesn't keep account of my wrongs. He wants to forgive you, too. We're all sinful. However, we don't have to live in that sin and guilt. Today is a great to tell God that you're a sinner, that you're calling on Him to save your soul, forgive you of your sins, and to help you live each day of the rest of your life for Him and for His glory. Life is difficult, but God is AMAZING. Don't do life alone, and don't leave your eternity up to chance. "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved". Praise God for His love, His forgiveness and for His gift of eternal life.

Anything Goes - Weeks #770-771

Welcome back to all you fabulously talented crafters, and thanks so much for joining us here at Word Art Wednesday for another great challenge. It's such a joy seeing the art you share with us. Right now, I'm busy working on securing the rest of our Sponsors for 2027. This is always a lot of work, and your prayers are greatly appreciated. I've always said that I'll continue to maintain this challenge blog as long as God chooses to provide the sponsors. So far, God has BLESSED us year after year and I firmly believe that He will do it for us once again in 2027. Please let me know if you're aware of any craft companies that might be interested in supporting a challenge for us in the coming year. And with all that said, let's get started with our fun new challenge.

The scripture used for our word art is Proverbs 19:17 which reads, "He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again". What this Proverb reminds us about is that when we are good to others and we show a generous giving heart, the Lord sees this and it pleases Him. It's almost likened unto the kindness being done toward the Lord Himself. This verse tells us that God will repay this kind of generosity. Now, I'm not saying that we should head out and start giving money to every needy person we encounter. When we are centered in Christ and are walking with Him, we talk to Him and ask of Him (we pray). By asking God to make you a good steward of what He has given you and to give you the discernment that's needed to do so, He will surely guide you in these areas. I see a lot of homeless (and not homeless) people asking for money here in Las Vegas. There are times that I can't stop and offer anything, but I can ALWAYS pray for them. God knows their needs, and I believe this verse would also apply to our prayers. By having this close relationship with Christ, He will nudge your heart and let you know when you're encountering someone that He really wants you to help. When you seek God and ASK for His wisdom, He will surely give it. You'll just know when it's appropriate to say something, to give something (food, money, etc.) and when to just politely smile and say a prayer. What's important here in this verse is the simple concept of being aware of the needs of others. "Hath pity on the poor" is what He's asking of us here. Having pity doesn't always mean giving money. Pray about this and simply ask God to lead you and to tell you when you should do something for someone in need. It's also a great idea to pray for those less fortunate than you. We can praise God for His abundant provisions towards us, and at the same time, ask Him to bless and provide for those less fortunate. If we pray for others and ask God to lead them towards Him, it's always their best chance for the love, help and salvation we all need. Hopefully, you'll be encouraged this week to pray about these things. In the meantime, count your blessings!
