Weeks #720-721 - Anything Goes

Welcome back, creative friends! We hope that you're ready for another FUN new challenge here at Word Art Wednesday. Our challenges wouldn't be the same without each of you, and we're SO grateful to have you stop by to fellowship with us and share your creativity with us. It's so much fun seeing all your amazing cards and projects each week. You are SO appreciated. I appreciate you, the Design Team appreciates you, and God LOVES and appreciates you. You are important to Him, and you're important to us. Thanks for joining us, and thanks for being such a blessing to all of us here at Word Art Wednesday. Your art inspires us so much.

You can see that we have another beautiful word art scripture available for FREE download. The verse in focus for this challenge is 1 Timothy 6:6 which says, "But godliness with contentment is great gain". This verse gently reminds us that while living a godly life is a blessing, that living that godly life with contentment (being fully satisfied and grateful for what we currently have/our circumstances) is great gain (a huge blessing). There are many people who attend church. Some people actually go to church every day. Some folks have memorized most (or perhaps even all) of the Bible, some do great works of charity, and some people study God's Word night and day. These are all wonderful (godly) attributes. However, this Bible verse is telling us that, along with all the ways we can live a godly life, being truly content, satisfied and fulfilled with our lives (our circumstances, our ailments, our struggles, the good and bad, etc. by trusting God fully) is one of the greatest joys and greatest gains we can achieve. Life WILL get difficult. But when we learn to fully trust God through it all and remain content, we gain something that the world can't offer. We can gain true happiness, contentment and a level of peace and joy that are SO immense. ONLY GOD can offer that.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges. We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards). You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. Any entries over that limit will be deleted and will make you ineligible to win. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning. It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and an encouragement to you as we share it. Anything Goes - Weeks #718-719

Welcome back by, everyone! Are you all ready for another AWESOME challenge? Well, we've always got something FUN planned, and this challenge is no exception. Our amazing friends at Divinity Designs have generously offered to sponsor us once again. How FUN is that? We also have some lovely art inspiration to get you started, a brief devotional to encourage you, and lots of great FUN for all. Let's jump right into our new challenge, shall we?

Our scripture of focus is 2 Thessalonians 3:16 which reads, "Now the LORD of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The LORD be with you all". These words, when originally penned, were written by the Apostle Paul to the Church at Thessalonica. Paul was speaking to the people about their need for peace in their lives. Wow! What they needed then is what we still strive for today....peace. This is not "world peace", but rather, this is the peace (the calmness and control) in our hearts and in our daily lives that ONLY the LORD (God/Jesus) can offer us. This verse tells us that "He will give us peace always and by all means". This means that, because when we ask God into our hearts/lives, He is literally with us ALWAYS and that He will do whatever is needed to comfort us and bring us His peace. Along with the presence of God in our lives, we receive His perfect peace. The Bible describes God's peace as one that "passes all understanding". In times when the world would be going crazy, stressing out, crying and worrying like mad, we have God, and we have PEACE. I saw a sign once that really summed it up nicely. It said.....

NO GOD = NO PEACE

KNOW GOD = KNOW PEACE

We really can know complete peace. By asking God to enter our heart/life and surrendering everything to Him, we not only secure our ETERNAL place with Him in Heaven, but we have God Almighty dwelling in us and providing us with His perfect peace that passes all understanding. What a blessing!

Anything Goes - Weeks #716-717

Welcome back again, everyone. We're delighted and blessed to have you join us for yet another great challenge here at Word Art Wednesday. Because of the (sad) unexpected closing of My Favorite Things, we were left in need of a sponsor for this challenge. The scripture in focus for this challenge is Psalm 77:12 and it says, "I will meditate also of all Thy work, and talk of Thy doings". When we stop to think about it, everything God created in a literal six days (the earth, the seas, the skies, the plants/atmosphere, animals, fish, mankind, etc.) is nothing short of miraculous. It's no wonder that the Psalmist, David, says he will "mediate all thy work and talk of all thy doings" because God is truly amazing. Those who know, love and trust God as the Creator, Author and Finisher of all creation have MUCH to think about and to talk about. God alone is worthy of our praise. Even those who don't know, love and trust God as the Creator, Author and Finisher of all creation continue to meditate (think about) and to talk of His doings. Yes, much to think about and to talk about because HE IS GOD and HE is amazing. Let's continue to share His love and promises with the world around is and point people to Him. It's the desire of God's heart that ALL people would know Him as Savior. Let's join together in having the same heart's desire as God has.....leading people to Him so that they will truly know "His mighty works and His doings".

Anything Goes - Weeks #714-715

Welcome back for another fun challenge, everyone. We're getting a little bit of a late start today, but we're ready now. It's exciting to think about all the beautiful cards and creations that will be linked with us over the next two weeks. Thanks for sharing the wonderful cards you share with us. Don't forget to share them ALL. Up to five per week for a total of ten per two-week challenge. While we don't always get by everyone's blog or social media to leave a comment, please know that you are always appreciated, nonetheless. Happy crafting, everyone. You're the best.

The scripture in focus for this amazing piece of word art is Psalm 105:8 and it says, "He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations". What this verse is telling us is, once again, that God is faithful. Please remember that we're not talking about "a god" or "some god", but rather; the Bible is referring to the One true God. He is known as Jehovah God in the Old Testament, and He is referred to as Jesus Christ in the New Testament. That's still the same One true God. He is faithful and unchanging. The principles, truths and beauties that make up WHO God is are at the very core of His existence. He will not ever change. His principles and purposes will never change. We can always count on our God to be unchanging. His promises are perfect, true and will be fulfilled. What a joy and comfort it is to know that God loves us, that He's in control of all things, that His Word and ways/truths have never changed and will never change. All we need to do is trust in Him. He's done the rest.
