Welcome, everyone. We hope you all know that there wouldn't be a challenge blog here without YOU and your willingness to share your art with us. It always makes us happy and grateful to see your amazing art linked up in our gallery. Even if we don't get by to comment on all your entries, please know that we're doing our best. And if we happen to miss yours, it certainly doesn't mean that we don't absolutely appreciate you. Like I said, we couldn't do this without each one of you. Our scripture word art for this challenge comes from Romans 4:7 which says, "Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered". What this verse is telling us is that we will be "blessed" which is defined as a declaration of divine favor and happiness. Being blessed is not something we earn. Being blessed is a divine appointment from God. The verse goes on to say that "blessed" are those whose iniquities (sins) are forgiven. There is only ONE WAY to be forgiven of our sins. It's not by attending confession at a church or by confessing your sins to a priest. NO man has the authority to absolve anyone of their sins. ONLY God is perfect (blameless and without sin) and only He can give forgiveness of our sins. After all, He's the only one whose forgiveness we need. People will judge, find fault and make assumptions. When God forgives us, it is covered by His blood and He remembers it no more. This is what the last part of the verse ("and whose sins are covered") is referring to here. Not only will God forgive us of our iniquities (sins), but He alone can "cover our sins". He did this by shedding His holy sinless blood on the cross of Calvary, dying in our sinful place, paying the price for our sins, rising again and subsequently bridging the gap between a holy God in Heaven and the pit of fiery Hell we all deserve for our sins. He/Jesus paid the price. He suffered, died, rose again and went to prepare a place for us. ONLY God could do that. How wonderful to know that I don't need to carry around the weight of my sins. I confess them directly to God, I admit my sinful condition and ask Him to forgive me. Praise God! I'm forgiven and God doesn't keep account of my wrongs. He wants to forgive you, too. We're all sinful. However, we don't have to live in that sin and guilt. Today is a great to tell God that you're a sinner, that you're calling on Him to save your soul, forgive you of your sins, and to help you live each day of the rest of your life for Him and for His glory. Life is difficult, but God is AMAZING. Don't do life alone, and don't leave our eternity up to chance. "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved". Praise God for His love, His forgiveness and for His gift of eternal life.
