Welcome back for another AWESOME challenge with us here at Word Art Wednesday. What a blessing to have so many talented artists like YOU who stop by and share amazing card and projects with us. You're ALL winners in our book, and we're so grateful for you. If we didn't get around to your blog, please know that your art is wonderful and we're SO appreciative of the cards and projects you link with us. We have another FUN challenge waiting for you, so let's get started. And again, thanks for joining us.
The scripture of focus used to create our beautiful word art file is Isaiah 66:13a which says, "As one whom his mother comforteth; so will I comfort you". As I'm sure many of you have noticed, we do use the King James Version (KJV) always, and sometimes the wording can be a little bit different from what we're used to hearing (in our current culture). However, we use the KJV because we believe that it is the closest modern translation to the original Hebrew scripture. With that said, don't let a word like "comforteth" scare you. It simply means to be comforted or consoled. This verse is saying that God (in the human form of Jesus) knew the loving comfort of his earthly mother, Mary. Because God KNOWS what it's like to experience human feelings, He understands our need for comfort during difficult times. He's reminding us here that He wants to be that person for us who lends comfort and consolation when we're going through difficult times. Some of us go to our spouse, our friends, our children, or other members of our family for comfort during our trials. That's a blessing for sure. But there's NOBODY who can comfort us the way God can comfort us. God doesn't ever want for us to suffer or to feel alone - because we're NOT ever alone. God, through the attributes of the Holy Spirit, can be with us in a way that lends comfort that cannot be matched or explained. Because HE ALONE IS GOD, He is able to provide comfort for us in the way Ha alone knows we need. He's trying to remind us that He really does understand our hurt and our needs, and that the answer is there for us. It doesn't matter what the question is or what the issue is......JESUS is always the answer. His grace and His comfort will always be sufficient for us and will always give us the peace and comfort we need. The next time you're wishing you could feel the comfort of your Mother's loving arms; call on God to provide you that comfort and He WILL be there to comfort and bless you. He will give you the peace that passes all understanding. Don't ever feel that you have to suffer alone. God wants to meet your every need. All you have to do is call on Him. He's always going to be there to comfort you the way you need to be comforted. Praise God!
As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computers; but you are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges or to win. We welcome you to share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards). You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning. It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules". Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to the guidelines. Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone. We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules. Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation.
