Weeks #468-#469 - Anything Goes

Welcome back, everyone, and thanks for joining us for this FUN new challenge.  It's hard to believe that we're already into December, but it's upon us.  That means Christmas is right around the corner.  With any luck at all (and some good planning, of course) you're hopefully far more prepared for Christmas than I am.  There's just always so much to do.  We also hope that as you go about the busyness of life, you won't forget what Christmas is really all about.  Let's each try our best to keep our focus on Jesus, the true meaning of Christmas, as opposed to all the hype we experience at this time of year.

Our word art for the challenge is from a familiar passage.  It's Like 12:34 which says, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.".  It's a simple and true statement, and it's something God wanted us to know.  All scripture is God-breathed and is for our benefit...it's there to teach us.  This clearly tells us that where we place our "treasure" in life (is your treasure in your job, your home, your investments, your vehicles, etc.), we will also place our heart (our trust).  We all tend to sometimes get too reliant upon our investments, income, retirements, etc. to measure the success and comfort of our lives.  May I remind each of us that our REAL treasure must be JESUS and our relationship with Him.  If our true treasure isn't found in Jesus (our relationship, our understanding of the sacrifice He made for us, our eternal salvation through Him) then we're placing FALSE TRUST in the temporal things of this world which don't hold any eternal value.  Our TREASURE has to be something lasting, like the relationship we can have with God through knowing Him in the person of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  By placing our treasure in Jesus alone and not the things of this world, we place our hearts (our trust) completely in Him.  That's an eternal treasure, a relationship with God Almighty, and the security of knowing that when this life is over (and it will be) we don't have to guess or wonder about where we're going.  By placing your treasure in Him, our heart is blessed eternally by the ONLY ONE and the ONLY thing worth calling our true treasure.  We're SO blessed to have His love and sacrifice as our treasure.  Where have you placed your treasure?  It's an important lesson for sure.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges or to win.   We welcome you to share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to the guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation.
