Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday! We hope that you all had a happy and blessed Christmas and New Year's Eve, and that you're on track for an AMAZING 2020. We sure are glad you're here to join us, and we're SUPER EXCITED to announce our 2020 Sponsors which you can see by clicking on the link. WOW! We sure have some FAB prizes coming your way this year, and you won't want to miss a single challenge. We're very grateful for the art you share with us. Oh, and by the way.....please welcome the talented Princess Jones as our Guest Designer this month. She's our first Guest Designer of 2020, and she has some amazing cards to share with you this month. I know she'd LOVE to have you visit her blog Papercrafting Paradise to say hello and view some of her art.
Our word art was created by Karen Murray using the verse Psalm 16:8 which says, "I have set the LORD always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved". What a wonderful verse. The psalms are filled with wonderful verses to uplift, direct and encourage us. And even if you're not a person who reads their Bible every day, I will say that the Psalms (or perhaps just a Psalm per day) can be a tremendous blessing to our daily lives. For instance, just this one verse tells us SO much. It says that (the writer) SET the LORD always before him. That simply means that, because he was wise, he chose to start every endeavor in his life by asking God to lead the way. We often step out to do things (big things and small things) without taking the time to ask the LORD to lead the way. That's first and foremost because, you see, when we ask God to lead our way, it means we are submitting to Him and trusting Him to walk in front of us to clear the way. And while, yes, it's metaphorically rather than physically, please remember that we are talking about GOD here....and HE can do anything - including, but not limited to, physically and metaphorically clearing the way for us. When we do things on our own, we will typically continue to stumble and fall and get distracted. The verse also tells us that because God was always at his right hand, he would not "be moved". What does that mean, you ask? Well, the way I understand it; it simply means that when I am centered in Christ, and I've asked Him to walk before me and to stay at my right hand, I am far more likely to be able to successfully complete the tasks I set out to accomplish. Also, when we keep the Lord "at our right hand", He is not only walking before us clearing the way, but He is also in our direct sight (our eyes stay fixed on Him as we go about our business). Can you see how "setting God before you" and wanting Him "at your right hand" are a good thing? The closer we are to God, the better off we are. On our own, we will stumble and fall, we will get discouraged, and we will likely often stray off our original path. We get distracted, we tend to give up, make wrong choices, etc. When we ask God to go before us, we can rest assured that He is there to show us the right way, and the way that will bless us. It's just a matter of asking Him for it. So, can you see now how even one small verse, or psalm (like this one), can bless you? It's so true! God's Word (the Bible) is filled with wonderful bits of helpful encouragement and life-changing truths. Let it bless you today. Let God and His precious Word be that guiding light, that protection, clarity, and let Him be that wonderful friend you need for 2020 and......for all eternity!
As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges. We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards). You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning. It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules". Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to the guidelines. Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone. We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules. Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
