Anything Goes - Challenge #384-#385

Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday!  We hope that you're all having a great week and getting LOTS of cards made.  We sure do enjoy seeing all the amazing creations you share with us each week, and we truly wish that every single one of you could win the prize each week because you're all SO very talented.  It's such an inspiration to see your cards and to learn new tips and tricks from all of you, so THANK YOU for sharing your beautiful art with us.  We have a fun new sponsor for this challenge.  It's The Stamps of Life, and they have such a DARLING shop.  Our DT Member, Stephanie, met the owner of The Stamps of Life at a Scrapbooking/Stamping Expo last year and fell in love with their products and also "clicked" with the owner.  So.....I followed up, and they graciously agreed to support this challenge for us, so we really hope that you will stop by this fabulous store to take a peek and say hello to them.  Let's get started with our fun new challenge, shall we?

The scripture for this new piece of word art is Proverbs 11:25 which says, "The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself". At first glance, this verse confused me.  I thought to myself...."I'm not a liberal, I'm a conservative".  And quite honestly, I also had the immediate feeling that "I don't even want to be associated with the word liberal".  Well, guess what?  I was wrong!  This verse is actually quite lovely, and proves to me once again why I absolutely LOVE and CHERISH the entire Word of God.  In studying this verse, it became very clear that "the liberal soul" simply means "a generous person" - to give liberally.  When a person chooses to give to others (financially, physically, etc.) in a liberal (or generous) fashion, they "become fat".  And in saying they become fat, it simply means that these generous people will receive SO much more in return from the Lord, Jesus Christ.  While it's a wonderful thing to pray for blessings upon others, this verse pertains specifically to those who give physically to others (their service, their money, etc.); and as they give cheerfully and plentifully to others, the Lord "makes them fat" by blessing them with temporal and spiritual blessings and showing His mercy and favor on them over and over again.  And finally, when we read "he that watereth shall be watered also himself" means that those who share with others in big ways (liberally/generously like a flowing fountain of water) will receive in return an abundance of blessings from God who is our inexhaustible fountain of blessings.  The more we seek ways to honor God (with our money, our time, and really with ALL of us) the more that He will continue to reward and bless us.  Praise God for ALL of His holy and precious Word.

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!

Love the verse, proverbs is a great book of wisdom... my friend and I who’re always dieting used to chuckle at it, of course it means mostly spiritually not just simply physically.
We are greatly blessed of God and thanks very much too for your great inspiration and running this challenge.
