Anything Goes - Challenge Weeks #246-247

Welcome back, everyone!  It's time for another fun challenge, and we're SO glad you've joined us.  We have two lucky winners to announce, a beautiful piece of word art, and our friends at Simon Says Stamp are sponsoring this challenge with a generous $25 gift certificate to the amazing store.  Let's get started right away.

Our beautiful word art/scripture is from Paslm 62:5 which reads, "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him".  In the midst of this beautiful psalm, David speaks to his own sinful soul and says, "My soul, wait thou only upon God".  You see, because of where that comma is placed, we know that he was speaking to his own soul.  If he had meant to say that his soul waits only upon God, it would have read differently (without the comma, like this)...."My soul wait thou only upon God".  This is why we believe the translation you use really does matter.  The Bible is God-breathed, meaning that it is the spoken word of God exactly as recorded by the true Prophets of the Bible (there are no true modern day prophets.  This another way of knowing a false religion).  They wrote down God's exact words (messages) for us.  We believe that the KJV is the most closely-preserved translation available.  Because there are SO many translations, we can see in this verse the difference and importance in meaning that a simple comma can make.  So, David spoke to his soul; telling it to wait only on God.  The reason he gave for this was "for my expectation is from him", which tells us that David knew that his salvation (his hope or expectation) was in him (Jesus Christ) alone.  This is a beautiful psalm filled with praise, promise, and hope (our expectation), and I encourage you to read through this beautiful psalm.  It is only 12 verses long, and I guarantee that it will be a blessing to you just as this verse has been.  Learning more about God's Word (and His promises) is fun, and is SUCH a comfort and a blessing to our daily lives.

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
