Challenge #152 - Anything Goes

Welcome, everyone!  We're so blessed to have you stop by this week to share your art with us.  We have really been loving the sweet projects you've been sharing with us, and we look forward to seeing what your creative hands will make for this challenge.  Just a friendly reminder to all, with Halloween approaching we realize that many of you are making your "spooky cards and projects" for other challenges.  Please keep in mind that while these projects are appropriate for some challenges, there are some restrictions for our challenges.  If you have any questions about what is acceptable, especially at this time of year, please refer to our challenge guidelines.  Thank you for being mindful and respectful of the rules.  We hate having to remove any entries due to content, but we do reserve this right.

This week's focus verse for our word art is from the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 40 and verse 8.  It says "the grass withereth, the flower fadeth;  but the word of our GOD shall stand FOREVER."  This is such a beautiful truth from God's Word.  I'm sure that some of you have driven by an old house where you used to live, or a school you attended, a store where you shopped as a youngster, a church, etc., and as you drive by, you are saddened that things have changed.  Perhaps the building is gone, or the trees have overgrown the area, or weeds are covering things.  The "things" of this world will ALL fade away over time.  The grass withers and the flowers fade, relationships change, people change (and can often disappoint us); but one thing that you NEVER EVER have to worry about changing is the precious, holy, perfect Word of God.  This verse refers to the Bible as the "word of our God" because the Bible literally is filled with God's exact words.  Many people think that it was written by men; and that's partially true, but GOD wrote every word that appears in the Bible.  God spoke through men, called prophets, and told the writers EXACTLY what to write, and they wrote down the words God told the.  It's like a secretary taking dictation for her boss, and then typing the letter.  The secretary has "written the letter", but she has written the words of her boss (the one who dictated it).  God's Word is just the same as that; they are words that God spoke through men, and those men wrote down EXAXTLY what they were told by God to write.  That is why we call the Bible "God-breathed."  It's not just "some of God's words or ideas" it's ALL of God's words and God's thoughts towards us.  He gave us this precious gift (His direct words) to help us to know how to live, how to answer men, how to equip our wicked hearts to be a light in this dark world.  Praise God that His words will NEVER change, never be compromised, and are just as true and meaningful today as they were the day He told these men what to write.  Hide His Word in your heart that you might not sin against God.  What a precious gift!

As always, you are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to these guidelines (dark images, etc.).  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
