Challenge #106 - Anything Goes

Welcome to Word Art Wednesday!  We're so glad you've stopped by to play along in our challenge.  Your art this past week was AMAZING, and we are so very grateful for each and every one who shares their art with us.  Did you see how many entries we had last week?  PRAISE GOD for all those beautiful projects!!  It will be a real treat to see what you all create this week.  We have two AMAZING sponsors with us again this week as well.  Check it out!

This week's scripture/word art is 1 John 3:18 and it reminds us that we need to remember that while saying nice things and quoting scripture or Bible stories is always good, that it's even more important to back up our words with our actions.  If the way we conduct our lives doesn't match up with what we're saying, then our testimony is ruined.  It's easy for me, or for anyone, to write down a few nice things about being a good Christian; but it's completely another thing to actually live your life that way.  It's like a parent telling a child not to swear, and then swearing at them; or telling them not to lie, and then lying to them.  We impact people SO MUCH with our actions.  We have to be careful as Christians not to fill our tongues with "good words" and then forget to follow through with the actions that match those words.  Let's all really work on that together - think about your actions and how they affect others.  Saying nice things is wonderful, but doing what is right is how we show others that we really believe the words we are saying.  It's like that old saying "practice what you preach".  We want to be a perfect example of what we know God expects of us.

As always, you are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. You can also link more than one project each week (up to 5 each week). The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  They have been revised, and we ask that you check them out if you aren't familiar with our challenge guidelines.  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to these guidelines.  Thanks for understanding!

  1. The verse this week is so appropriate for the situation we are in as a country. The people who were badly affected by the devastating typhoon that passed the eastern part of our country have nothing left and really have to rely on LOVE in deed and not just in word. It is a challenge for us who are safe and dry because the need is so great and what we give never seems enough.

    1. Thanks for your kind words. We love to hear that the verses are a blessing to you. Please know that the Kaen who creates our word art is not me, but rather the talented Karen Murray. You can find a link to her sweet blog on the left sidebar where she has lots of free files. She is a great blessing to us and we praise God that she shares her talents with us. Thank YOU, Shaz, for blessing us with your art and your fellowship. God is so good to us all.
