Weeks #505-506 - Anything Goes

Welcome back, everyone!  It's time for another awesome challenge here at Word Art Wednesday, and we're so glad you've chosen to join the fun.  We have another FUN sponsor, some great inspiration, a brief devotional, and loads of fun waiting for you.  Let's get started with our new challenge.  You may never actually know how incredibly grateful I am for your participation in our challenges and your willingness to share your time and talents with us here at Word Art Wednesday.  YOU are what makes it a success.

Our word art was created using the verse 145:8 which says, The LORD is gracious and full of compassion; slow to anger and of great mercy".  As we've discussed in the past, the word LORD (all caps) in the Old Testament refers to God the Father (Yahweh God) and in the New Testament, Jesus Christ (the same person).  This verse tells us that He is gracious which means He expressed his merciful love for us through His sacrifice on Calvary.  It also says that He is full of compassion which means that He truly cares for us in the most intimate/personal way.  He wants to know us and to help us become more like Him.  This verse tells us that He is also slow to anger.  And because we are to strive to be like Him, we need to learn how to control our anger so that our actions will reflect His gentleness and self-control.  He will give us all these things if we simply ASK Him for these attributes.  Remember, once we are in Christ, we become a new creature and He will always help grow us into who He wants us to be - a happier, more self-controlled person who will draw others to Christ by being a proper example in this dark world.  Finally, this verse tells us that God is "of great mercy".  Again, if God wasn't "of great mercy", He could have saved His precious time and not suffered and died to provide a way for us to bridge the gap that our SINFUL NATURE creates - separating us from Him.  A sacrifice had to be made in order for that sin gap to be covered; and HE, the LORD, was the only One who could cover our sin because ONLY He is God and ONLY He is sinless and pure. It's because of His great mercy that He paid the price for us, and the reason why He is gracious, full of compassion, and slow to anger.  He wants us to be like Him.  He wants us to call on Him for our salvation, ask Him to guide our lives to be more like Him, and to help us point others to Him so that they can have their sin gap bridged, and find their way to an eternity with Him.  Praise God that He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  You can ALWAYS count on Him.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computers; but you are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges or to win.   We welcome you to share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to the guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation.

Anything Goes - Weeks#493-494

Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday, and thanks again for joining us.  We hope you're ready for yet another AWESOME challenge with another AWESOME sponsor.  For this challenge, our friends at Pink & Main are joining us and offering a FABULOUS prize to their amazing store filled with sweet stamps, dies, papers and more.  We always hope and pray that you will be blessed and encouraged by our challenges; and that you will grow closer to the Lord, Jesus Christ as you create and share your art with us.  We want perfect peace and happiness for ALL our crafty friends...and for all the world.

The beautiful word art we're enjoying for this challenge is Psalm 138:8a, and it says "The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me".   What?  Perfect?  Does that mean I (we) will become perfect?  Well, no.  We won't be "perfect" while we're here on Earth because we are sinful humans in need of a perfect Savior (only found in Jesus Christ, God in human flesh).  However, when we give our life to God and submit to His will for us, He begins to change and mold us, and to perform His perfect will in us.  Each day, week, month, and year that we continue to walk with Him; we will grow to become more and more like Him.  We will eventually become better individuals as He works to "perfect" us into who He knows we can be as we shine for Him and point others to Him.  When we finally get to Heaven, then we will be "perfect" because we will be exactly what and where God wants us, and we won't have ANY more sin. We will live forever with Him in glory with NO stress, no imperfections, NO sin, NO sorrow or pain etc.  Our lives can get difficult here; but this Earth is not anyone's eternal home.  God wants to "perfect" your life...day by day; and He wants nothing more than for you (for everyone) to join Him in Heaven (a perfect place) to spend eternity (as opposed to Hell, separated from God forever - the only other option).  But in order for that to happen, we  must call on Him and ask Him to "perfect" us and guide us.  Let God "perfect that which concerns YOU".  Let Him have and guide ALL of you so that when your life on Earth is over, you can live in a PERFECT place, as a perfected being, in perfect eternal peace with a PERFECT Savior.  Praise God.

Anything Goes - Weeks #491-492

Welcome, everyone!  We PRAISE GOD for a new day and a new challenge, and we're SO blessed to have you join us.  It's time for another FUN challenge here at Word Art Wednesday.  We've got an awesome sponsor for this challenge, The Project Bin Stamps.  We also have a brief devotional, some inspiration to get you started, and lots of fun waiting for you all so let's get going with our AWESOME new challenge.  By the way, please know that we are SO super grateful to have you play along and share your God-given talents with us.

The scripture that was used to create this beautiful word art file is Matthew 6:34.  It says, "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself sufficient unto the day is evil thereof".  What this verse is telling us is that, basically, we shouldn't be worrying about tomorrow.....or anything else.  God is very clear in His holy Word that He doesn't want us to worry, and that our worrying and stress can actually lead to evil/sin when we let it consume us.  When we truly surrender our lives to God and place our trust fully in Him (and all the wonders that come along with knowing Him), we are living in the moment; trusting fully that He has us in His care at all times.  God doesn't want us worrying about tomorrow (the future) as to where we'll go/live, what we'll eat, where we'll work, who we'll trust, etc.  When we are living for God, we trust Him at that moment and we have the blessed assurance of knowing He also has tomorrow (and every day thereafter) handled for us.  Whatever comes up, He will be right there to help us through it.  This doesn't mean we shouldn't be prepared for our futures, it simply means that we shouldn't ever be worried or stressed about it.  Not ANY part of it.  God encourages us (tells us, in fact) to cast ALL our worries on Him because He cares about us.  He knows that our worrying can lead to stress, which can lead to doubt, fear and all sorts of negative things that He doesn't want for us.  Whatever you're carrying around today, lay it at the feet of Jesus.  Tell Him that you're tired of carrying it.  Not only will He lift up and carry all our burdens and worries, but He actually WANTS to do so.....rather than having us carry it all.  God's got it all handled, my friends.  Give it all to Jesus, let Him sort it out and simply TRUST HIM.  What a wonderful blessing and truth from the precious Word of God.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges or to win.
