Anything Goes - Weeks #756-757

Welcome back for another fun-filled challenge here at Word Art Wednesday.  In my personal (and humble) opinion, the best challenge blog out here in the crafty social media world.  We've been going strong for well over fifteen years now.  This challenge blog started in 2011 when its Founder, Cassandra Cushman, got the idea to have a challenge that's centered around God's holy Word (the Bible).  She felt it was a way to share our love for the Lord and our love for art.  I took over some time in 2012 and have been running things since then.  But....we're in for a real treat because Cassandra is joining us this month as our Guest Designer.  By the way, do you have this cute badge yet?  Feel free to grab it, save it, add it to your blog sidebar.  We have a fabulous challenge waiting for you all, so let's get started right away, shall we?
The scripture of focus that was used to create the lovely piece of word art you see below is Psalm 127:4-5(a) which says, "As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are the children of the youth, happy is he that hath his quiver full of them".  As we approach Father's Day, this verse from the Bible is often used to describe a good man/father, etc.  It tells us that a good man is prepared much like a soldier/warrior preparing for battle.  The soldier or warrior would ensure that his quiver is full of arrows so that when he must draw one, he's ready for whatever comes his way.  The warrior knows that God is with him and that he has the arrows he needs to protect himself.  Being prepared is important.  Next, this verse compared that good man/mighty solider or warrior's arrows (his preparedness) to the children a young man might have.  It says that the man who "has his quiver full of children" is happy.  Does that mean you need to have children to be fulfilled and do all that Christ asks of you?  Certainly not.  What it is saying, however, is that a man who does have a child, or even a whole bunch of children, is happy.  There's a certain joy that comes from fatherhood (parenting in general) that God knew was similar to the feeling you get when you're well prepared and have all you need to face life's trials.  The wise warrior would fill his quiver with arrows.  The wise man seeks God's knowledge and applies it to his life so that he can teach his children (and their children and their children's children, etc.) God's ways.  When we live our lives as close as possible to way God has instructed us to live it (applying God's Word/the Bible to your life), we are ready for whatever life sends our way.  Our quiver is full and we're preparing the next generation of Christians how to be prepared to live for Christ.  It's not always easy breezy, but it's a blessed life that God will surely lead when you seek Him.  Is your quiver full?  Let your father or someone in your life know that you appreciate their heritage of faith.  Thank them for allowing you to be an arrow in their quiver.  Praise God for all those who seek after Him and bless others with their faith.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries for each two-week challenge.  Any entries over that limit will be deleted and will make you ineligible to win.  The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and an encouragement to you as we share it.  If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules found under our Page tab marked "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.   Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're not.  We are simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Please let us know if you have any questions about anything; and thank you for your understanding and participation.

Anything Goes - Weeks #561-562

It's time for another FUN challenge here at Word Art Wednesday and we're SO glad you're able to join us.  We have so many awesome things to share with you and we're super excited to have you here to link your art with us.  WOW, y'all are so super talented and we enjoy seeing the wonderful and creative cards and projects you share here each week.  Your art is a blessing to us, and we sure hope that you enjoy playing along here.  We're very grateful to have you with us at Word Art Wednesday because we truly care about you.  Our hearts' greatest desire is for everyone to come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  We hope that our art reflects to you the great love that God has for each of us, and that it's an encouragement to you as you create and share your art in return.

God has surely given each of us talents.  We see your talents each time you link up a card in our gallery.  As children of God, our art should reflect something about our lives.  Our handiwork should reflect His goodness.  So, when I found myself in a creative slump this week; it made me have to take a good hard look at myself and ask the question of why my art wasn't reflecting His beauty.  While I go about figuring out this mystery, I bring myself to the throne of God.  I think of the verse that says, "draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh unto thee".  It caused me to remember that when I'm struggling, it's NOT because God has gone anywhere.  It's because I've done something wrong, or because I've moved away from my fellowship with Him.  I guess my point is that we can't allow our moments of sadness, stress or...whatever it is to interrupt our fellowship with God.  Just by talking openly and honestly with Him, I can quickly resolve my issues.  God doesn't want for us to worry or stress.  He tells us to simply "cast it on Him because He cares for us".  Wow, what a joy it is to know that.  Yes, I got a bit off topic here from the actual scripture used on our word art; but the message stays the same.  God absolutely WILL preserve us.  He'll keep us and bless us here on earth when we're struggling, AND He will keep and bless us for all eternity.  It's not about "religion", it's about a REAL relationship and a REAL fellowship with God.  If you've never made it personal, I highly suggest that you let today be the day that you call on Jesus for everything.  He's the only One and the only Way.  Go ahead and talk with Him today, surrender it all and put your eternal trust in Him alone.  You'll never regret it and you'll be eternally blessed.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.

Weeks #485-486 - Anything Goes

Hello, and welcome back to Word Art Wednesday.  We're delighted to have you join us for another great challenge.  We have such a wonderful sponsor for this challenge; which is Newton's Nook.  I know it's a favorite of so many people in our crafting community; so help us spread the word and invite people to play along with us.  We always enjoy making new blog friends and seeing the wonderful art everyone creates. Thanks so much for joining us.

Our scripture of focus for this challenge is Habakkuk 2:14 which reads, "For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD; as the waters cover the sea".  This verse was prophetic when it was given from God and written in His precious word.  It was referring to a different time; but it also reflected the future when there will come a time when ALL will obtain the knowledge of the glory of the LORD (God/Jesus Christ).  When He comes, it will become absolutely evident to ALL that He alone is God.  Just like the waters cover the seas and stretch across the world, there is no place that exists where the knowledge of the glory of the LORD won't be reach, be seen and known, and recognized with proper adoration.  Because this is absolute truth (God's holy Word), it isn't just a story....it's factual and these things WILL happen.  Praise God for giving us the opportunity to be on the right side of God's plan for our lives.  We aren't here on this earth for our own enjoyment.  We're here to bring glory to the One who created us, loved us, came and suffered/died for us, rose again for use defeating death and proving He is God, went to prepare a place for us, and is coming again for us.  Let's give God the praise He deserves....now and forevermore.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges or to win.   We welcome you to share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to the guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation.
