Weeks #545-546 - Anything Goes

Welcome by for another FUN challenge here at Word Art Wednesday.  We're always SO glad to have you join us and we have another awesome challenge waiting for you.  There's a lucky prize winner to be announced (below), a brief devotional to encourage you, another awesome sponsor, and lots of great inspiration to get you started.  Thanks for choosing to share your talents with us.  We really appreciate you taking the time to play along with us.

Our Bible scripture for this challenge is 2 Timothy 2:4 and it reads, 'No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier".  (KJV) This verse is very simply stating the fact that when a soldier is trained for battle, he will always keep his primary focus on the war (or his current mission).  The soldier doesn't allow himself to be distracted by the goings on around him (the political climate, social issues, etc.).  The trained solider is always ready to approach the mission at hand with intense focus and dedication.  In this verse, Timothy is comparing the prepared soldier to those doing the Lord's work.  When we set out to serve God, we need to be well prepared (like a soldier); and we do this through studying God's Word (the Bible) and by living for His purpose which is sharing the Gospel of Christ.  We shouldn't be distracted by the things going on around us.  Satan, our enemy, will always try to put obstacles in our way.  Our focus must always remain on Christ, and we must always remember that our ultimate goal is to point others toward Him.  You see, the things of this world will fade away in the end.  The ONLY thing that will matter is each individual person's relationship with God.  That's why it's so important that we not be swayed by the world.  We each need to keep our ultimate focus on God and our individual responsibility to point others to Him.  This world is not our eternal home.  It has NOTHING eternal to offer us.  Let's each make a commitment to focus on God and to helping others find Him before it's too late.  Eternity is a VERY LONG TIME.  Where will you spend your eternity?  Are you focused?  Keep your eyes on Jesus and don't be distracted by this world.  The results are Heavenly.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.  The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and an encouragement to you as we share it.  If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules found under our Page tab marked "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.   Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're not.  We are simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Please let us know if you have any questions about anything; and thank you for your understanding and participation.
