Getting to Know Design Team Member, Paula Pike

We would like to introduce you to our Design Team Member, Paula Pike.  Here is what Paula has chosen to share with you all.  We hope it will be a blessing and encouragement to you.

Paula is a Princess Warrior -- a Daughter of the King of Kings who wages war with the spirits of darkness that would woo her and her family away from the Light of God's Grace. The regal tapestry of her life is made up of a variety of threads, including the miracle of adoption, homeschooling, writing and editing for a homeschooling magazine, as well as an adoption practitioner, and most recently, a cancer diagnosis.  It is only in the last few years that she has started to believe that she is "an artist" (helped tremendously by the honour of being on the Word Art Wednesday Design Team!), and has been enjoying the revelation that we are all created to be creative because we are made in the image of the Creator.

While extensive, on-going cancer treatments are keeping her couch-bound much of the time these days, Paula enjoys exploring all kinds of art, especially the mixed-media variety. She wishes she could draw and paint with more life-like accuracy, but is coming to value her own quirky accomplishments in art. She longs to inspire others (especially her children) to pursue their God-given creative talents, and lately has been dreaming of future teaching opportunities.  Her blog, Created 2 B Creative, is her little corner of the blogosphere where she documents the creative endeavors of her family.

Paula believes that a blessing is anything that draws us closer to God, and so she is embracing her cancer as an instrument of her Father-King's blessing. She is stunned by the way that God is using her journey to bless others, particularly as she journals about life with cancer on CaringBridge, and prays that her Heavenly Father would be glorified in all that she does and says.  She is tremendously grateful for all the encouragement she has received from online friends, and looks forward to meeting them one day -- if not here, then in the Palace of the King!

P.S. This Friday she will be celebrating 21 years of marriage to her best friend and Beloved :) God is SO good! Here's hoping for double that again!
