Our June Guest Designers - Visiting Our Roots

For those of you who are blessed by our challenge blog here at Word Art Wednesday, you will enjoy learning about our Guest Designers this month.  For the first two weeks of the month, our Guest Designer is Karen Murray of Paper Craft Memories.  Karen is the artist who designs all the lovely word art/scripture files we offer each week.  We could not do what we do without her talents, and we are SO very grateful for her.
Karen and Her Hubby
Karen works diligently to provide the beautiful scriptures files we use on our cards each week, and she has even more lovely images on her blog, Paper Craft Memories.  If you get the chance this week, please stop by her blog to look around and leave her some love (and thanks) for all she does for us.  Karen will be our featured Guest Designer for the first two weeks of June.  Karen is a home-schooling Mom, a loving wife, and a wonderful example of the Proverbs 31 woman.  We hope that you will stop by her blog and get to know her, and see more of her wonderful art.
Cassandra Cushman
For the last two weeks of June, our Guest Designer will be Cassandra Cushman.  Cassandra is the founder of our blog.  She's the one who had the original vision to begin a Christian Challenge Blog where everyone could come and share their talents.  Due to a busy personal life and other commitments, Cassandra stepped down from the Design Team and the running of the blog and turned it over to it's current Blog Administrator, Karen Letchworth.  Cassandra is a mother, wife, and talented artist.  If you click on the link here to her blog, This Art That Heals, you will also be able to see all the lovely art she has for sale.  We are so grateful to Cassandra for her vision in starting Word Art Wednesday, and we welcome her to the second half of June as our Guest Designer.  You will just LOVE what she has prepared for you!

We are SO blessed to have both of these lovely ladies Guest Designing for us in June, and we're sure that their beautiful art will be a blessing to you.

Challenge #82 - Anything Goes Sponsored by Pink Persimmon

Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday for another great Anything Goes Challenge this week.  We are being sponsored this week by Pink Persimmon Stamps, and Scripture By Design, and we hope that you will link up and share  with us (up to 5 times) for the chance to win these ELEVEN (11) amazing prizes. You are welcome to share any art you make this week that fits our challenge guidelines.  Please see our official "Challenge Rules" if you have any questions about what types of projects are acceptable.  Having eleven (11) winners really increases your odds.  It's another great week to play along!

Our scripture/word art for this week comes from Proverbs Chapter 14 and verse 26.  This piece of scripture tells us, quite confidently, that when we fear the Lord, we will have a place of refuge - a safe shelter from life's troubles.  When the Bible speaks about "fearing the Lord", it is referring to having a healthy and deep respect for who God is.  Often times, we tend to forget Who God is as we speak of Him, and even as we talk with Him.  We must NEVER forget that He is a perfect and holy GOD - the Creator of all, the King of all Kings, the Alpha and the Omega (the beginning and the end), the only One who can save us from the hell we deserve.  It is SO important to "fear God".....to respect and honor Him as holy, perfect and righteous - as the God of this world, and as the only One, the ONLY WAY to salvation.  When we properly respect and fear Him, we will always have that safe shelter, or refuge, from any storm - physical, emotional, spiritual or otherwise.  He will ALWAYS be there for us when we learn to fear Him.

You are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges. We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. You can also link more than one project each week (up to 5). The more, the merrier. We just hope that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".

Challenge #81 - Anything Goes

Welcome back to another great challenge this week!  We're SUPER excited to have V's Sweet Ideas as our sponsor for our new challenge.  You will definitely want to check out V's Sweet Shoppe and all the amazing products they offer.  We're blessed to have them as a sponsor, and we just know you will LOVE their store.  They offer very reasonable shipping and a wide variety of amazing craft items.  We're SO blessed by all our wonderful sponsors, and hope that you will enter (up to five times each week) for the chance to win!

Our word art/scripture for this week comes from Chapter 3 of 2 Thessalonians.  This portion of scripture tells us that not all men (people) practice, or have, faith in the Lord.  The world is filled with people who are "unreasonable and wicked", but the Lord, Jesus Christ, is faithful.  He doesn't just leave us to figure it all out on our own.  He has given us His Word, His Holy Spirit, and the encouragement of other believers to help us to live right, and keep us from the evil in this world.  When we surround ourselves with good people, study His word, and fill our lives with His presence, we don't have to fear the evil of this world.  What a blessing to have this promise!  It is our desire that your personal relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ, will grow as you fellowship with us and play along in our challenges.  We're so glad you're here!!

You are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges. We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. New Design Team Member, Stephanie Wright

We are SO blessed!  We say it all the time, but it's REALLY TRUE.  God has given us SO MUCH, and He continues to pour out His blessings on us with so many wonderful sponsors, talented Guest Designers, many artists (like YOU) who play along in our challenges each week, and a committed Design Team of crafters with a heart for serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We are full of praise to God as we announce our newest Full-Time Design Team Member, Stephanie Wright of Steph's Scrap Happenings.  Here is a little bit about Stephanie that she has chosen to share with us.  We hope that you will stop by her blog to welcome her to the team.

Hi, my name is Stephanie Wright.  I've been saved by God's amazing grace and desire to live a life that pleases Him.  I was raised in a Baptist pastor's home.  I was taught God's Word, and to love and serve Him all my life.  I wasn't just told what I needed to do; my parents lived that kind of life before me, and taught me by example.  At the age of 4, I realized that even though I was just a little girl, that I was a sinner and needed a Saviour.  I knew that I could never be "good enough" or get to Heaven on my own, so I asked Jesus to come into my heart and was saved by God's amazing grace.  My sins were washed away by Christ's sacrifice for me on the cross.

I met my "Mr. Wright"..grin...while in college, and we were married in late December 1984.  My husband and I have been in full-time ministry our entire marriage.  We moved to Kentucky in July 2012 so that my husband could take a new pastorate and teach in a Christian college.  The Lord blessed us with two children, Ian and Kendra, and I had the privilege of homeschooling them.  Our son and his wife live in Virginia and are the parents of our precious Grandson.  Our daughter is a newlywed living in South Carolina while attending grad school at a Christian College.

While I have enjoyed many different crafts all my life, I started scrapbooking in 2004.  By 2008, I found my focus turning to making cards and other paper crafts.  To me, card-making is more than just a hobby; I see it as a ministry tool as well.  That's one of the reasons I enjoy using Scripture on my cards.  I'm usually supervised while crafting by at least one of our three cats.

According to my records, I first started participating in Word Art Wednesday challenges in January of 2012 in Challenge #10.  I have been privileged to be a Guest Designer for the blog twice and am now so honored to have been asked to be part of the Design Team.  I am excited to be allowed to share with you on a regular basis and want the Lord to be glorified in all my work.

Challenge #79- Anything Goes

Welcome back to another week's challenge!  We have two more great sponsors this week, and hope that you will link up for the chance to win.  We didn't quite hit that 200 entries mark this week, but we're getting close.  We thank YOU for participating, and we praise God for providing for our needs.  Each of you has such specific and wonderful God-given talent, and it blesses us when you share your art with us.  We especially love seeing our word art used so beautifully, and seeing uplifting and encouraging sentiments on your creations.  Thank you for sharing with us, and for giving your best to the Lord as you create.  We do trust that we will hit that 200 mark soon.  How exciting!

Our word art/scripture for this week comes from Proverbs 31:10.  This chapter in God's Word describes the qualities of the Godly woman that we should ALL strive to attain.  God wants us to be strong, efficient, to enjoy His blessings, to have valor, and to be a blessing to our husbands and families.  Attaining these noble attributes is far more precious than gold, silver, diamonds or rubies.  It allows women to exude His goodness, and reflects on Him and His wonderful provisions in our lives.  Great joy is found in meeting these qualities, and it brings glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  One of our participants, Vickie O'Dell, shared the entire chapter on her blog describing the attributes of a virtuous Proverbs 31 woman verse by verse.  If you haven't read through this Psalm or studied it before, we encourage you to do so.  It helps define the type of woman God wants each of us to become, and will be a blessing to you.
