Challenge #90 - Anything Goes

Welcome back again for another AWESOME challenge. The very best part of this challenge bog is hearing you all say how God's Word, and His promises, are blessing your lives. We are so grateful for all the kind and encouraging comments you leave, and we want you all to know that we really do care about each of you. It's our sincere desire to SHOW YOU God's goodness and love, and to share encouraging words with you as God leads us to share His promises with you.

This week's word art/scripture is from Deuteronomy 7:9 tells us that God is faithful, and that He keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him. In return, it's SO important for us to remain faithful and to keep our promises to Him. We need to keep His commandments and demonstrate our love for Him; even through the most difficult times. His promises are just as valid to us today in our generation as they were back in Bible times. In return, we have the responsibility to teach His commandments to our children, and our children's children, so that future generations will know of His faithfulness. All those wonderful truths are just as relevant today as they were back then, and we need to remain faithful with what He has given us. What a blessing to know that His faithfulness never ends. In return, neither should ours!

Challenge #89 - Anything Goes

It's Wednesday again, and time for another great challenge. We really enjoyed the amazing cards and projects you all shared with us in our last challenge, and we're already looking forward to seeing what you will create and share this week. We all had a lot of fun creating with this week's word art, and if you choose to use it, we hope that it will be a blessing to you as well.

This week's scripture, taken from the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 12 and verse 3, says "Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation." How wonderful to know that God can quench our physical thirst with water, and that He can also quench our spiritual thirst by filling us with the water that comes from the wells of salvation (the powerful water that will quench our spiritual thirst forever and take care of our every need). This can only come through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We are never alone when we learn to "drink from His well" of strength and blessing. If you have never experienced this "joy that comes through the wells of salvation", we encourage you to open God's Word this week and dig in to, and claim, all the promises He has given us for a blessed life. There is GREAT JOY in depending on Jesus to quench your thirst - both physically and spiritually.

Challenge #88 - Anything Goes

Welcome back again for another great weekly challenge here at Word Art Wednesday! We are so blessed, and so grateful to have you join us again this week. It's such a joy to see the art you create each week, and we are so grateful for each of you. We hope that you are encouraged by our challenge blog, and that you are blessed by our fellowship (as we certainly are by yours). We'd like to remind you once again to check out our "Rules" page if you have any questions about what we allow in our challenges. We hate to have to remove any entries that do not meet our guidelines, but we must maintain these standards that honor and represent our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We want you to have creative freedom, as long as it's within our challenge guidelines. If you have any questions about our challenge guidelines, just check the "Challenge Rules" page.  We thank you for your understanding.

This week's word art/scripture is from 1 Timothy 4:12 and it tells us that we should take advantage of our youth and vitality (our ability to do things for the Lord), and that we need to be an example (such as the example set by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, when He walked the earth) of the believers. We do this through the words we speak, in our conversation (meaning our lifestyle and manner of living as well as our daily conduct), in our charity (love and giving of ourselves, our time, talents, and belongings), in our spirit (attitude), in our faith (what we know saves us and sets us apart), and in our purity (living as sinless a life as possible; just as Christ did when He set the example for us). Wow, that's a lot to live up to! But just like Timothy (who wrote this passage when he was in his 30s), we will all struggle along the way; but we still each have the responsibility to strive to live our lives as Christ did while He was on this earth....which was sinless and without fault. Of course, we will NOT be perfect (as Christ was), but we can still strive toward that standard. We need to remember that we are an example to other believers (and even to non-believers) - and that means we directly represent Jesus to others, and we want people to see Him through us so that they will desire to have what we have, and to live as we live, and to seek to know Him and live for Him. If our testimony if off, then we can't expect others to follow our example. It really is a big responsibility that's placed on us as believers, but we CAN do it when we live the way God modeled for us to in His Word. He was the perfect example for US to follow, and we need to be an example of Christ for others to follow.   Let's encourage each other in that journey, and really strive to have others see Jesus in each of us so that we can bring Him glory and honor through all that we say and do.

Challenge #87 - Anything Goes

Where are the weeks going? It seems that this summer is just flying right by. We hope that you're enjoying your summer and finding time to spend with family and friends, possibly doing some barbequing and swimming, doing all the things you enjoy, and of course....finding PLENTY of time for crafting. Let's just all PRAISE THE LORD together!! We finally hit our 200 entries mark in this past week's challenge. So, as promised, there will be a very cool THIRD PRIZE this week (a Crafty Secrets acrylic stamp set) sent to one lucky random winner. I will do this again next week if we can maintain our goal. Thank you SO MUCH, everyone, for sharing your art with us. We are so grateful to God for each of you.

It's important that those stopping by our blog take into consideration that we are, first and foremost, a New Testament Bible-believing and God-honoring challenge blog. We enjoy all forms of art, but we will not allow any "dark" or questionably "gothic" projects. We don't judge those who create differently, but we do have a responsibility to follow what we know to be right in the sight of God. For this reason, we will remove any projects that are not G-rated, family-friendly, uplifting and encouraging, or otherwise wholesome (and this is at the ultimate discretion of the Blog Administrator). We don't wish to offend anyone, we wish only to lift up and honor the holy name of the One we represent; and that is the Lord, Jesus Christ. It is our desire to draw others to Him by encouraging the use of scriptures and endearing sentiments. We hope that you will understand and respect this. We really do care about everyone!

This week, our scripture is Psalm 33:12 "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance." What this verse means is, quite simply, whether people today want to admit it or not, our country WAS founded on the principles of Christianity. The word "LORD" in this verse, or any time we see the word LORD in all capital letters in the Bible, it refers to Jehovah God. In the Old Testament, this was Jehovah (the Messiah). In the New Testament, this is Jesus Christ. "Blessed is the nation" (this could be ANY nation), but in this case, we're speaking of the United States of America where, this week we celebrate our Independence Day on July 4. "Whose God is the LORD" (Jehovah God the Messiah/Jesus Christ) - According to the Bible, the only way for the United States, or for ANY country to be blessed, is for that country's God to be the LORD (Jesus Christ). Now, there are people out there who like to say that we may call "god" by many different names, but that we all serve the same god. This is simply not true, and DON'T be misled. Unless your god goes by the name of Jesus Christ, it is NOT the same god as the God of the Bible. Blessed in the nation whose God is the LORD. This blessing can come only through a nation placing their faith in the ONE TRUE GOD of the Bible who IS Jesus Christ (as our founding fathers did). Our nation suffers today because, as a nation, we have turned away from the one true God and the principles of the Bible (His instructions to us); and ONLY through turning back to Him will we continue to be blessed as a nation. This is true in our personal lives as well. We strongly encourage you to pray that your country, wherever you may live, will turn to the one true God, and experience the blessings that come ONLY through placing complete faith in Him.
