Anything Goes - Weeks #673-674

Welcome back to Word Art Wednesday!  We're always so grateful to have you join us for our challenges.  We enjoy your art so much; and even if we don't get to your blog every week to leave a comment, please know that we appreciate you very much.  This wouldn't be a challenge blog without YOU.  Please know that you matter to us, and more importantly, you matter to God.  Thank you for sharing your God-given talents with us.  We praise God for you, and I really do pray for you.  Oh, and here's some more good news.....our Sponsor Calendar for 2025 is full.  As long as God continues to guide, to bless and to provide, this challenge blog will continue.  PRAISE GOD!  And now, let's jump right into this awesome challenge.

Our Bible verse of focus for this challenge is Micah 7:8 and it says, "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me".  Let me tell you a story relating to this verse.  I have an extended family member, a nephew, who is like a son to me.  If you remember back about ten years ago, I shared with you all the story of my dear friend and sister-in-law who died of brain cancer.  For some strange reason, she once said to me that one of her (four) children was "my other son".  I never quite knew why she said that.  Well, that nephew (now 19) not only lost his dear Mama at the age of 9, but he was also discarded by his father.  To this day, his own father has cast him away, turned his back on him, and wishes the worst for him.  It's tragic.  However, God got ahold of this young man and changed his life; making him a "new creature".  So, when I read these words, "Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me".....it really hit home.  You see, even when our "enemies" (those who wish us the worst and oppose us) desire for us to fail and be miserable, PRAISE GOD, He tells us that He will be our light when we sit in darkness.  My nephew doesn't have to sit in darkness.  He doesn't have to be sad or live a bitter and miserable life.  Neither do you, and neither do I.  When we choose to give our life to the Lord, He promises to always be that light in the darkness.  God, unlike the world and its people, will NEVER leave us or forsake us, and He will bless us, show us a better way, and even "be a father to the fatherless".  My sweet nephew has been through a lot in his young life.  Many of you have gone through a lot as well.  But PRAISE GOD that He will always be there to pick up our broken pieces and make something beautiful out of it all.  He wants to be the light in your darkest days, and it's our sincere hope and prayer that you will call on Him and allow Him to be that light for you.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges.  We welcome you to share all of your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family friendly.  This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.  The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and an encouragement to you as we share it.  If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules found under our Page tab marked "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.   Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're not.  We are simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Please let us know if you have any questions about anything; and thank you for your understanding and participation.
