Welcome back by again this week for another AWESOME challenge here at Word Art Wednesday. We're so glad to have you stop by to play along with us. We have another wonderful sponsor, another lucky winner, and lots of fun waiting for you all. It means SO much to us that you visit and play along in our challenges. We greatly enjoy seeing your cards and projects, and we consider every entry a winning entry. Sadly, we can (customarily) have only one official winner each time; but please know how much it means to us just to have you play along in our challenges. Every entry is greatly appreciated, and we thank you for joining us.
Our scripture for this piece of word art was created using Matthew 1:14 which says, "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost". What we are told about the conception and birth of Jesus is that He was born of a virgin (Mary), and that He was conceived in Mary's womb by the Holy Spirit of God; and this took place long before Mary and Joseph were ever together (in a physical way). This must have been a very stressful, and even embarrassing situation for Mary because; as we know, people can be very judgmental. I'm sure that some people were in disbelief that Joseph wasn't the (physical) father of the baby, and Mary may have even been shunned by some. Despite her own fears, feelings of doubt, and personal struggles; we know that she was delighted to have been chosen by God to carry the Savior. Mary's own words were, "my soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior". Even Mary, the (earthly) mother of Jesus, knew that she wasn't "holy enough" or "good enough" to get to Heaven on her own accord. Her words told everyone that she recognized herself as a sinner, and that she needed a Savior. Mary is blessed among women, held in high esteem, and she played a wonderful and unique role in Jesus coming to earth. However, she is not holy, she cannot save us or intercede for us (as she said in her own words). That's because we ALL need a Savior, and Jesus Christ (God in human flesh) is exactly what we need for happiness in this life, and eternity in glory with Him in the next life. We're all going somewhere one day. If you've not yet made that choice of where YOU want to spend eternity, may I suggest doing as Mary did and "let your soul magnify the Lord, and let your spirit rejoice in God your Savior". It's a decision you will NEVER regret.
As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges. We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards). You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning. It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules". Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to the guidelines. Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone. We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules. Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
