Anything Goes - Weeks #362-#363

It's time for another FUN challenge here at Word Art Wednesday, and we're so glad you've chosen to stop by and join us.  We have two more lucky winners, two FABULOUS sponsors, lots of great inspirational art, a brief devotional, a beautiful (FREE) digital scripture file, and a good time for everyone.  Thanks for taking part in our challenge.  We hope it will be a blessing to you.

As we look at the verse used to create our word art (Psalm 103:17) we might ask ourselves what this means.  If there is ever a verse that you don't quite understand, we strongly encourage you to seek out wise counsel to help you comprehend it, as every word from the Bible is SO very encouraging and helpful.  This verse says, "But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting...." and this simply means that His mercy (His compassion and forgiveness) is something that has ALWAYS existed and ALWAYS will exist.  Just like God Himself, there is no beginning or end to His mercy, and that means it cannot ever be taken from us once we accept it - because it's eternal.  This leads us to the next part - "upon them that fear Him" - we are human; so much unlike God, we can be kind and merciful today...and yet, we can be merciless and ugly tomorrow.....but not God!  This is another attribute that separates God from all others - His truths and promises have always existed, and will NEVER change! But just knowing His truths isn't enough.  That's why He says "to them that fear Him", which simply means we must make it personal, and must come to a place of understanding where we fully acknowledge God as the mighty, powerful, loving, and ONLY sovereign source for our eternal security.  "Fearing" God is a form of submission and acceptance of who He is - He is EVERYTHING!!  And finally, this verse tells us that "His righteousness is unto our children's children" which tells us, once again, that it is a FOREVER thing.  It didn't start with us, and it doesn't end with us.  His mercy and His existence are one in the same, as He has no beginning or end - and His promises have no beginning or end.  As a sinful person, this is so comforting.  We never have to worry about losing His precious promises.  This is why we share His mercy with our children (and others) so that these promises can be passed down to future generations; and so that those we love can experience the peace, joy and security that comes only from a relationship with Him.  What a blessing to know that His mercy is ALWAYS there for us, will last forever, and is available to ALL who call on Him.

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week, for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
