Anything Goes - Challenge Weeks #250-251

Welcome, everyone, and thanks for stopping by!  We're so glad you're here for our new challenge.  We have so many exciting things happening here at Word Art Wednesday, and we're so happy that you're here to share all the excitement with us.  Our good friends at Simon Says Stamp are back as our sponsor for this challenge, and we're VERY excited to tell you that they will be our primary sponsor again in 2017.   How exciting is that?  Praise the Lord!  Another thing I want to share with you is that, sadly, we are losing Gail Scott from our DT.  However, we are blessed to have Cheryl Scrivens joining our team starting in October.  There are always great things happening here, and we give God all the praise for blessing this challenge blog.  And of course, we are also grateful for YOU!

Our word art for this challenge is taken from Psalm 119:89 and it says "Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in Heaven".  Let's look at this verse closely.  The first word is FOREVER, and that literally means FOREVER (it will NEVER be taken from us and will NEVER change).  Next, it says "O LORD", and as I've mentioned before in many of my devotionals, when we see the word LORD in the Old Testament, it always refers to Yahweh God, which is God the Father in the Old Testament, and Jesus Christ in the New Testament.  It's incredibly important to understand that this word LORD is referring to our Savior....God the Father/Jesus Christ the Son (the holy trinity).  The next part says "thy word is settled in Heaven".  What this is telling us is that "thy word" (the law, or the promises of God) were made to be firm, established, stable, and in heaven; and that it would continue to have all these attributes forever and ever.  It simply NEVER changes.  What God had ordained as law would always remain law; and what He had affirmed would always remain true.  And the things that God has promised us will be sure FOREVER.  That's one thing about the Bible.  It is true and complete, and will never ever change.  Other "religions" out there will change their doctrine to suit the changing needs of our society.  I don't want to mention any "religions" specifically so that I don't offend anyone.  But when any religion flip flops their doctrine, you can GUARANTEE that they are NOT legitimate.  If something is true, it's true forever (like the word and promises of God Almighty).  If it's man-made (like several of the most popular "religions"), they can alter and change it to suit their changing needs "as the light gets brighter" or as God reveals it to men.  But let's remember that God's Word tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:5 that "Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God".  Personally, I would much rather place my faith in a God that is NEVER-CHANGING.  Every word contained in God's Word (the Bible) is God-breathed, meaning that God spoke each word to the Prophets of old, they wrote it down exactly as God revealed it to them, and it will NEVER change.  That's why it says "is settled in Heaven".  We can't go to Heaven to have a meeting to discuss changing it (LOL).  It's SOLID and will never change.  Let's not place our faith in men interpreting God's word for us.  Let's place our faith in the LORD who created Heaven and Earth, and whose Word will be true FOREVER.  What a blessing!

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
