Challenge #208 - Anything Goes

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  We're so glad that you've stopped by this week to join us.  We have LOTS of exciting things happening as we always do.  We have TWO talented new Guest Designers for November, Rozy Smith and Berina Febin; we have a beautiful new piece of word art, a helpful devotional, and more great prizes up for grabs.  We hope that you will each share five projects with us this week to help increase your odds of winning.  We love seeing the amazing cards and projects you link to our challenges.  Please pray for our Design Team Members as (like all of you), some of them are sturggling with health issues and other stresses.  We're so blessed to have the extra help of TWO talented Guest Designers this month to help fill in the gaps.

This week's word art/scripture is Hebrews 13:5, and it says "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee".  This verse reminds us once again that it's SO important to guard our tongue.  We are sinful human beings, and often times our tongue can get us into trouble.  Perhaps we're quick to anger or to snap at someone when things don't go our away, or sometimes we react in a way that isn't honoring to God.  But remember also that this word "conversation" doesn't refer only to our words.  It also applies to our way of life.  As children of God, we are supposed to be growing ever closer to the Lord.  That means our lifestlye should be ever-changing in a positive way.  We shouldn't be quick to anger, quick to react harshly or abruptly; but rather we should be mature enough to walk away when we get upset.  We should take that extra moment to pray and ask God to control our thoughts and words, to put our hearts back in a "right place" so that our witness isn't scarred, and so that God's holy and precious name is always honored and lifted up......in and through us.  The verse also tells us that we should be content with what He have.  That doesn't mean that we won't still want more scrapbook supplies (because we know that we all do...LOL), or that we won't desire a new car when we need one, or a new clothes washer or dryer when our old one breaks down (you get the idea).  There will always be things that we both want and need.  However, this verse is reminding us that we need to be content with what we have.  If I never received one more thing than what I have right now, I know that I would be JUST FINE!  In fact, I'd still have more than many people in this world posess.  This verse goes on to tell us that "He will never leave us or forsake us".  God isn't going to make us go without food and clothing.  This verse is simply reminding us that, as Christians, we need to TRUST that He ALWAYS has our back, and that we need to live our lives in a manner that expresses to the world that we realize this.  We should live our lives with self-control, patience (all the fruit of the Spirit), and we should be slow to anger and quick to forgive.  We should be satisfied and grateful for all that we have, and we should take great joy in knowing that He will NEVER leave us or forsake us (turn His back on us).  He LOVES us, and we are SO blessed.  We need to live our lives in a way that glorifies God and shows the world what it means to live in peace; knowing that He is in control, and that He will never leave us to fend for ourselves.  We really hope that this verse has been a blessing to you this week.  Isn't God's Word WONDERFUL?

As always, you are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
