Well, here we are on another lovely Wednesday morning all ready to start another fabulous challenge week here at Word Art Wednesday. We're SO glad that you've stopped by to join us. We had another great challenge last week, and we're excited about all God has in store for us this week as we look at His Word, and get ready for another super fun Anything Goes challenge with two more AWESOME prizes. We hope that you're all doing well, and that you're ready to have some serious fun with us.
Our word art/scripture verse for this week is Romans 14:19 which tells us, "Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another." This is such an important lesson to all Christians, and we need to remember that it is vitally important to seek actions, words, and encouragements that would result in peace towards, and with, our fellow Christians. As a people, we tend to be competitive; even with one another. It's somehow in our nature. But God encourages us to let go of that natural desire to compete with one another; and rather, to seek after actions and words that would edify one another (lift up our fellow Christians). It's normal to think to ourselves about what WE want, or how WE feel about a certain circumstance. But when we put others' feelings before our own, we are able to build up others, which will in turn bring more joy to each of us. If those around us are encouraged and blessed, they will do the same thing and encourage us. It becomes a cycle where we choose actions and words that make for peace and contentment, and we think of ways to lift up and edify those around us; and we end up being blessed in return. There's a verse (Romans 16:17) that says to mark those who cause divisions and offenses between you and avoid them; and this verse is much the same. It's important for US to be encouraging to others so that they will be encouraging toward us in return. If we all maintained this concept, we'd be so much better off over all. It's really something to think about. God's Word sure can be a tremendous blessing to us when we apply it correctly to our lives. God's Word warns us to avoid those who don't hold these precepts. So, we need to think not only about how we are treating others; but also, about how we are allowing others to affect us. We need to separate from those who cause offenses and division in our lives; and cling to those who seek to edify us and build us up. It's really a powerful lesson.
As always, you are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges. We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards). You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning. It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules". Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines. Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
