Challenge #185 - Anything Goes/Family Friendly

Welcome back, creative friends!  We're so glad you've stopped by again this week to share your wonderful creations with us.  It's always such a blessing to see your creativity and talents through the art you share with us, and we want you to know that we truly appreciate every single entry we receive.  You're ALL winners in our book!

This week, our word art/scripture is 1 Corinthians 2:5.  This is a WONDERFUL verse because it reminds us that our faith must ALWAYS rest in the power of God.  The reason Paul wrote these words is because even back in Bible times, there were "slick talkers", people who were quite clever in their speaking.  Paul didn't want anyone's faith to be swayed by these slick talkers; and it's a relevant and  valuable lesson for us today.  There are so many "religions" that base their beliefs on what men say (or have said).  We know that these man-made rules, suggestions, teachings, "revelations", etc. have NO authority because, PRAISE GOD, we have everything we need in the Bible.  God gave us His precious, holy word as the ONLY source of instruction we need.  Now, don't get me wrong - we still accept instruction from our pastors, our elders, etc., but their instructions and teachings need always to be Bible based, and not just things that they have concluded on their own thinking.  God absolutely doesn't "reveal things" to humans for the purpose of beginning a new "religion".  ALL our instruction MUST come directly from the Word of God.  It's also important, when listening to a sermon or a teaching, to make SURE that the person teaching it is quoting scripture correctly.  CARRY YOUR BIBLE WITH YOU, and always follow along when listening to someone preach.  It's very important that YOU understand the word, and that YOU KNOW the instruction is FROM the Word of God.  Men (and women for that matter) are very slick, and they can say wonderful things that make us feel good or inspired.  However, if that instruction is not Biblical, then it's not of God.  Nothing we base our lives on should ever contradict the Word of God.  We can still learn things about other subjects (such as hobbies, parenting, etc.), but when it comes down to the heart of things, NOTHING should EVER contradict (go against) the Word of God.  It is so important that we remember this important verse.  Our faith should NEVER stand in the wisdom of men, but ALWAYS in the power of God!

As always, you are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
