Are you are all ready for another GREAT challenge? We're sure glad you're here with us this week. We have two more AMAZING sponsors, Guest Designers, and lots of fun and great prizes for you! Karen is making the same offer she did a couple weeks ago, but this time there's an extra step. If you use a sponsor (Crafty Secrets) image on at least ONE of your entries here at Word Art Wednesday, AND link your project to THEIR challenge as well as ours, then leave Karen a comment on her blog saying you did so, you will be entered for an additional prize from Karen. Not to mention, you'll be entering in our Word Art Wednesday Challenge, and Crafty Secrets' Challenge - that's a total of THREE chances to win with just one project! (By the way, Word Art Wednesday DT Members and Guest Designers are allowed to take me up on this offer).
Our word art scripture for this week is Proverbs 10:12, and it tells us that "hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins". As we all know, Proverbs is FULL of great tidbits of wisdom for happy living. In this particular passage, we are told that when we hold hatred in our hearts, all it will do is bring strife (stress, worry, unhappiness, chaos, etc.) to our lives. Who wants that? Not me! I don't have the time or the energy to hate anybody. I can hate the things they do, but I won't dwell on it. We've heard of horrendous things happening all around the world by those who "stir up strife", but here's the good news.....LOVE COVERS ALL SINS. We're NOT talking here about the act of love. In this verse, it is speaking of the noun LOVE, which refers to God. God=Love We read in 1 John 4:8, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." So, unfortunately there WILL be hatred in this world because of those who "knoweth not God". It's happening in the political world, it's happening through terrorist acts; and unfortunately, it's even happening in some of our homes. I beseech you, my dear friends, don't allow strife to be stirred up in YOUR heart. Let go of hatred today. It accomplishes nothing. Let love (God) cover your sins; and pray for those whose sins are not covered by the precious blood of Jesus. Because we know that all acts of hatred WILL one day be answered for (when we each stand before the One true God some day), it is still important not to hold hatred in our hearts toward anyone. We have to give it to God. This is a really strong, relevant, deep-reaching, and important verse; and it can REALLY be a blessing to each of us if we take time to think about all it means. Isn't God's Word WONDERFUL?!
As always, you are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges. We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards). You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning. It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules". Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to these guidelines. Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
We would LOVE to see you use it, if possible.
