Challenge #116 - Anything Goes

We had a FANTASTIC challenge last week with lots of beautiful entries.  We thank each and every one of you for sharing with us the talents God has given you.  It's always a tremendous blessing to have you play along with us, and we praise God for each of you.

Our word art for this week is James 4:10 and it reminds us of the importance of being humble.  You may have noticed that the people we tend to be most attracted to are those who are humble.  Seeing arrogance and conceit simply isn't attractive or becoming in anyone.  We are naturally drawn to people who are willing to admit their imperfections; as those who admit their shortcomings just seem to be more approachable.  When we meet someone who thinks they know everything, won't admit when they're wrong, or who cannot take constructive criticisms without arguing, we're naturally turned off by them.  You will also notice that these are the people who we don't want to spend much time with because they're argumentative and difficult.  When we humble ourselves and admit that we're far less than perfect, we're really admitting our need for Jesus in our lives.  Because He alone is perfect and holy, when we confess our faults before Him and to others, He is able to "lift us up"; meaning that He is able to let His attributes make up for those we are lacking.  In 2 Corinthians 12:9, God's Word tells us that "His strength is made perfect in weakness."  It is only when we are broken, and admitting that we need Him, that He is able to lift us up and make us whole.  It's much better to accept the simple fact that we're far less than perfect, and that we need Jesus to help make us the best we can be.  So, the next time you want to be lifted up and made whole, just let God know that you accept your faults, weakness and imperfections.  He wants to lift you up and help you become everything your potential can bring; but first, you need to humble yourself in His sight.

As always, you are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to 5 projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to these guidelines.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
