Challenge #109 - Anything Goes

It's hard to believe that it's Wednesday again already.  Where do the days and weeks go?  This year will be ending before we know it, and we have some really exciting things happening in the new year.  We will share more about this in next week's post.  You won't want to miss all the details, so be sure to stop by each week for updates and exciting announcements about our upcoming plans and how YOU can be involved.  We have some really fun and special things planned for you!

For this week's scripture, Karen Murray has created a beautiful piece of word art from Psalm 37:7(a) which says "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.  Fret not thyself."  The first part (rest in the Lord) tells us that we can find a solid and safe resting place in the presence of the Lord.  By allowing ourselves to let our guard down and really trust Him with everything, we can relax knowing that He has what's best for us at heart, and that He will do all the worrying for us.  We can rest/relax knowing that He is there for us always.  The second part says to wait patiently for Him.  This is sometimes difficult when we want things done quickly.  God's timing is NOT our timing, and we need to remember and trust that God has things under control always.  We need to wait on Him; knowing that He will always do what He knows is best for us - but always in His perfect timing. Trusting is difficult - but necessary.  The third part of this verse tells us not to fret ourselves.  This simply means that we shouldn't keep our worries to ourselves.  By casting our worries on Him, He can solve our problems for us and relieve us of a whole lot of unnecessary stress.  Worrying (fretting) does absolutely no good, and will never change anything.  When we give it to Him, trusting that He will handle it in His perfect timing, we can relax and focus our energy on other things.  It makes our lives SO much easier when we are able to implement these words into our lives.  God's Word is rich with blessings, and the truth is - they really work!  But we have to put them into action; trusting that He will handle them for us. This is where true peace and happiness come from.

As always, you are welcome to save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to 5 projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to these guidelines.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!

Hi Everyone, the cards the DT made for are really beautiful and I am inspired buy them! Karen When I read your devotion today felt like I was sitting at your kitchen table, drinking a cup of coffee while you open the Word in spirit and in truth to me. I read it as you have lived it and teach it and all I can say is Amen. I can't tell you how much I enjoy linking back to WAW!! Thank you so much, I use your ministering to minister!!
Hugs,

What a wonderful collection of inspirational pieces--I haven't joined in at WAW for a while, and what a joy to find SO many lovely participants.

(I think I'm off on my days for entering this shabby tag book, so don't count me in for the prize, but you know WAW has been a favorite of mine for so long, I REALLY wanted to stop in and say hi!!)
