Remembering Paula Pike

It is with bitter-sweet feelings that we make this blog post.  Our dear friend, sister in the Lord, and Design Team Member, Paula Pike, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning.   Paula shared on our Design Team from the inception of Word Art Wednesday until she became too weak and ill from the cancer/lymphoma that finally took her life.  Below is the last piece of art Paula was able to share with us here on Word Art Wednesday.  Her art came from deep inside her, and was clearly driven by her deep love for her precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  This piece of art was posted back in August.  You can see more of her art on her blog - Created 2B Creative.
Paula was an amazingly creative artist, who's heart and work were always Christ-centered. She, like many of us, tried to always infuse her faith with her crafting passion. She blogged through August of this year then stopped when it became too difficult to do so, and she spent her remaining time focussing on the priorities of family.

Paula leaves a very loving husband, Blair, and four beautiful children. You could easily see how this challenge brought them closer together as a family, and closer to God. The children exhibited amazing faith; especially their oldest daughter, Mattea - Age 15, who in many ways "mothered" her younger siblings - Talia, Tamas, and Caleb.

Services will be Friday (visitation) and Saturday (Celebration of Life). They will certainly need all the prayers possible, especially since it's so close to Christmas.   Paula will be missed by all of us here at Word Art Wednesday, but most especially, by her loving family.

Paula is free, and already experiencing something we can only imagine.  While Paula's family is rejoicing for her, they will surely know a deep loss and great grief.   We ask that you will please join all of us in just lifting them up before the Lord in prayer.

Hug your children a little tighter...appreciate your husbands more...make life count for Christ, as we know Paula did.
What a blessing to know that she is in glory with Him!

My sympathy goes out to the family of Paula Pike and my joy goes to Paula who is home and celebrating eternal life. What glory that must be to be held in the arms of Jesus. My pray is for God to bring comfort to Paula's four babies that were left behind on earth and her hubby. I so hate cancer - it is a terrible disease - help us Jesus find a cure in our lifetime as it takes so many lives much too early. Is there an address so we can send a card? Thank you for your lovely tribute to Paula on this blog. Have a blessed day.

So sad I was unable to work with her while she was here at WAW. Haven't met her but I know that she love the Lord Jesus. Thanks for sharing her last project and it's so beautiful. I will surely keep her family in prayers. For Paula, she is in the arms of the Lord where all her tears are wiped away...Hugs!

oh my goodness, I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face as I read the news.....Paula was such an inspiration to me as we fought our cancer together. in fact she is the reason I finally broke down and put a photo of myself with no hair on my own blog. she gave me courage.

I can only say that in the midst of my own sadness, I am glad she is now sitting at our Father's feet. she is home. and in the end, that is all that really matters.

my prayers are with the family and friends she leaves behind. she will not be forgotten.

She was an inspiration to me.

In starting WAW a year or so ago before handing it over to a very special lady. I decided to put out a DT call and I remember her first email to apply and was so drawn to her strength and love for the Lord as she explained to me what she was going through.
I am so blessed to have known her and look forward to the day when I can run up to her and give her a big hug.

It is always sad for those of us who are left behind, but we are most surely comforted when we know where our dear one is, and with whom....may Paula's family find peace and comfort in that sure knowledge.

Oh wow, this is such a sad news. I know she is with our Lord, but still... it's tough to read she lost her struggle with cancer.

Her art was always so joyful, and I felt she was so close to the Lord. And even though she had this disease, she was such an inspiration for me, how she found joy in the little things. I admired her for that. Always think of another, even though she was so sick.

I thank God that I got to share a little piece of her life, on the Word Art Wednesday blog.

I wish much strength for the family. And I'll be praying for you!!!

Paula, I hope to meet you in heaven some day!

Wendy

What consolation we can find in Jesus and in His promises to meet our every need! It is a blessing that Paula's faith has brought her into the presence of Jesus where she is now free from all pain and suffering.

It is so very sad, though, to think of her sweet family and friends who are separated from her. I pray that God Himself will bring comfort and healing to their hurting hearts.

My condolences to Paula's family. May the Lord help them feel His peace, comfort & strength now and in the days ahead. How wonderful to know that she is now with the Lord she loved so dearly while here on earth. However, the family left behind, who is now trying to adjust to a new way of life, these are difficult days. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
