Challenge #50 - Blessings From God

When you think of the term "Father of Lights" in reference to God, what comes to mind?  WOW!  What an awesome thought that all good and perfect gifts.....all the blessings in our lives.....come down from God Himself.  The Bible tells us that God is the source of all light.  We can study the Electromagnetic Spectrum, and we can scientifically understand how light works.  But, what a joy to know, as Christians, that He alone is the true source of all light.  This includes physical light, intellectual light, a light that serves as our moral compass, He is our spiritual light, and of course...praise GOD....the one thing that separates us from other beliefs is that our God, Jesus Christ, the Father of Lights, NEVER changes.  This verse speaks of His stable presence in our lives where it says "with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning".  This simply means that He is unchanging.  His Word is perfect, and is unchanging.  There is nothing else "to be revealed" or that we missed along the way.  God, who has always existed and IS the Word, who IS Jesus Christ- who became human flesh - He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  In a world that is always changing, what a blessing it is no know that our God NEVER changes.  So our faith shouldn't ever change either, because our salvation can never be lost. When Jesus died on the cross, He said, "It is finished" (John 19:30) and with that, He PAID IN FULL the debt for our sins.  What a JOY to know that our God is never-changing, and that because it was finished, our salvation is secure if we simply believe in Jesus, God in human flesh, who was crucified, died, and was burried to pay the debt for my sinfulness - your sinfulness, and He rose up from the dead on the third day proving He is God, was seen  by hundreds, and witnesses even saw Him ascending into Heaven proclaiming that He is "going to prepare a place for us".  Praise God for this wonderful gift from our Father of Lights.  His blessings never end.

We encourage you to interpret this theme however you feel led.  Let God, the Father of Lights, speak through your art this week to express your gratefulness to Him for all the good and perfect gifts He has given each of us.  Sure, life has its bumps along the way, but when we are honest with ourselves, we know that the blessings in our lives BY FAR outweight the burdens.  At least I know its true for me when my life is right with Him.  We look forward to seeing all the art you make this week.  You're allowed to link up five (5) projects per week.  It would increase your odds of winning, AND....the best part is that we all get to see all the work you're posting this week.  We consider it a blessing to see everything you're creating.  Feel free to share - your art and your thoughts.  We enjoy your fellowship.

I also encourage you to visit each other's (participants') blogs.  Some of you have been blogging forever, and many of our new friends are just getting started.  We ALL love having new followers.  Why not stop by some of the participants' blogs this week to say hello, check out their art, become a new follower, and then.....you go back and follow them too.  It encourages new bloggers to get followers, and personally.....I just love seeing what everyone has made!  How about you?

As always, feel free to save this free weekly word/scripture art to your computer. You are welcome to use it in your entry, but not required to do so. As long as you use an encouraging or uplifting sentiment on your project, that is fine. You can also link more than one project each week (up to 5). The more, the merrier. We just hope that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you each week. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".
Here is this week's free scripture/word art file. We hope that it will be a blessing to you.

Hi Karen...Just want to say how I am blessed with the words you shared to exhort God's Word in this post. It takes a heart touched and totally surrendered to Jesus to piece together such wonderful message. I am with you, Sister and Friend in Christ!
