Luke 2:14, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!

As we get closer to Christmas, the stores are becoming fuller and fuller and it seems from what I hear and read that this is the most stressful time of year for people. There's people ticked off and fighting because they can't get the latest IPad, Xbox, games or whatever. Going in debt over material things. I will be honest, I have let myself get stressed during this time of year over the dumbest things. I have had to learn in the past few years, that it's not about how much I spend, how many gifts I am able to give, should I get this or that, what if they don't like this, how perfect I have to make the food, how clean is my house and the list goes on and on an on for me.
When I stop to think and ask myself, does all that matter anyway? Most of the gifts will be exchanged, returned or liked, the kitchen will become messy anyway as I've been cooking, the food that takes days and hours to prepare will be eaten in twenty minutes and you know that the family will eat it because it's food and sometimes it doesn't really matter how it tastes you're just happy to have them there. I've had to stop and think about what really matters and what everyday, especially Christmas is all about and for me, it's about giving Him the glory for the life He's given me and that I am able to have a relationship with Him. The gift of having my family. Being happy with all the "things" I have received throughout the year/s and if all I were to receive on this special day from anyone is Merry Christmas, I'll be happy with that. The peace, oh the peace of knowing that I don't have to worry about anything that if I just do the best I can at cooking, cleaning, finding the right gift to my ability, He will pick up the rest. Goodwill toward men, being kind to those who aren't being kind to me because Christmas and everyday belongs to Him!

Free Word Art for you to use in your next project:

Here's my project for this week:

This cute little canvas came from an online friend, Marsha from gcstampingirl, she and I did an art texture trade. I've never used a canvas like this one before. Mine are usually on a piece of wood or a heavy cardboard. It was a lot of fun to work on this. Thanks so much Marsha! I did my routine paper, paint, stamping technique and added my homemade pearls along with my Word art piece and inked the edges of that.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Wow, your post hit the nail on the head. Thank you for this reminder. We all need to stop and reflect on what we are really celebrating and ask ourselves who are we worshiping...is it the presents, the lights and decorations, the hustle and bustle of the world??? Jesus came to save us all and He is the reason for the season.

Love your Christmas background and your word art for this week.
