Challenge #324 - #325...Anything Goes

Welcome to the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog as we wrap up our last challenge by announcing our lucky winner, and we start a brand new challenge with THREE amazing sponsors.  We have one sponsor for our friends playing along in the UK, one physical prize and one digital prize.  Yup, that makes THREE chances for you to win this time, and we always enjoy seeing your amazing projects.

The word art for this challenge is from Romans 5:8 which says, "But God commended his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us".  This beautiful scripture reminds us of how great God's love for us truly is.  While the verse reminds us that He died for us "while we were yet sinners", it is also reminding us that this is precisely WHY He suffered and died.....BECAUSE we are sinners.  He knew our condition, and knew that we needed Him.  Without His deep love for us and His willingness to sacrifice Himself in atonement for our sins, we would be eternally lost (separated from Him forever - like we deserve).  But because He saw our need for salvation, He chose to die for us and pay the price for our sins, and provide a way for us to spend eternity with Him despite our unworthiness.  God didn't have to do this (suffer and die).  He did it willingly because of His unfailing love for us.   So, let's all try our best to remember each day to be humble and to thank Him for loving us in spite of our sinful condition, and for loving us enough to care about our eternal destiny.  Let's also remember to pray for those who have never called on Him for salvation.  There's still time!  Praise God for loving us, forgiving us, dying for us, and rising again to go and prepare a place for us.  This is truly His greatest gift.

As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.   We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards).  You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning.  It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules".  Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines.  Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone.  We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules.  Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!

Anything Goes - Challenge #322-#323

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!  Welcome by the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog.  We're so glad you're here, and we look forward to having you play along and share your art with us.  We have a FABULOUS new sponsor for this challenge....Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.  We're so grateful for the support of all the amazing stores in the crafting community who support our challenges, and we encourage you to stop by and thank them for their willingness to help out this way.  We're really excited, so let's get started!

The word art for this challenge comes from Colossians 3:14 which says "And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness".  This chapter (3) of Colossians speaks to us about the characteristics of our faith, and explains how we are to live our lives in faith...putting off anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, swearing, etc.  It also explains that once we are saved (have accepted the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ), we have become a new (and different) person who will strive to be like Him.  It reminds us to be holy (following the example of the Lord Jesus Christ) by showing kindness, being humble and meek, forgiving one another....and most of all, showing one another a perfect and complete love (charity).  This will help us to achieve this "bond of perfectness".  Of course, we realize this doesn't literally mean that we become "perfect".  After all, he wouldn't have reminded us not to be angry, or to put off wrath and malice, etc. if He knew we would suddenly become perfect.  No, God realizes that we are not perfect.  But by demonstrating this perfect love (charity) in the best way we know how, we show God and the rest of the world that we are His, and that He resides in us and guides us.  We will still make mistakes.  That's because we are sinful.  If we weren't still sinful, we wouldn't need a Savior.  God is simply instructing and reminding us that once we are saved, we should show the world that we are new creatures in Him; and we should strive toward being the best versions of ourselves that we can be.  This is how we find true happiness in this life, and how we bring honor to Him.  Take a peek at Colossians 3 this week.  You are sure to be encouraged by His precious Word!

Anything Goes - Challenge #320-#321

Welcome to Word Art Wednesday for another AWESOME challenge.  It's time for more fun, and we have TWO great sponsors for this challenge.  We absolutely LOVE seeing the cards and projects you share with us, and we wish everyone the best of luck in the random draw.  Thanks so much for joining us and sharing your talents.  If you're interested in Guest Designing with us this year, please send me an email.  OK....let's get started!

Our word art for this challenge is from 1 John 4:4, which is a wonderful scripture.  This verse is a reminder to us that we are children of God.  And just like we LOVE our children, the Lord Jesus Christ LOVES His children.  In fact, He loved us enough to suffer and die for us; and to rise again and prepare a wonderful place for us - allowing us the opportunity to spend all eternity with Him.  This profound act of love should always serve to remind us that HE IS STRONG.  He is stronger than the enemy (Satan), and He is stronger than any other threat in your life.  He LOVES you so much that He is always willing to fight for you and to help you conquer your enemies (troubles, etc.).  There is NOTHING and NO ONE that is greater than God.  So, don't let ANYTHING worry you or cause you to doubt His love, His promises, or His ability to protect you from anything you're facing.  Just call on Him, and He will show you His love, give you strength, help you conquer your trials, and give you a sweet peace that passes all understanding along the way.  What a blessing!
