Welcome back, everyone! And if you're new to Word Art Wednesday, welcome to you as well. We're so glad you've stopped by to play along with us. We have our fabulous primary sponsor, Simon Says Stamp, with us for this challenge. There's also a brief devotional, a beautiful piece of word art, and lots of fun planned for everyone; so...let's get started.
Psalm 42:1 says, "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God". The word (hart) is not misspelled. It's from the (KJV) King James Version, and actually is spelled correctly. The word "hart" refers here to an adult male deer (and is translated so in most other versions of the Bible). This verse is painting a picture of these animals vigorously thirsting for water; and finally being quenched when they find the water brook. The picture continues to compare how, in much the same manner, our own hearts and souls (as humans) thirst for God. When we're really physically thirsty, it's almost like we can't get enough water sometimes. We just keep drinking and drinking. God's Word, His comfort and love through the Holy Spirit, and His eternal promises are much the same. Once we know Him and love Him, we simply can't get enough of Him. Our souls will long for Him and we will want to "drink" from water (God) that can eternally quench, just as the deer longs for its needed water. The beautiful thing is that we can sit and "drink" all day and all night. We can fill ourselves with His knowledge, His goodness and His love, and find exactly what our souls need most...ALL in Jesus!
As always, you are welcome to save the free scripture/word art file to your computer, but are never required to use it in order to play along in our challenges. We welcome you share your all your art with us; remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly, and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment. This includes any type of altered or digital art (not just limited to cards). You may link up to five (5) projects each week. The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning. It is our desire that God's Word will be a blessing and encouragement to you as we share it. If you have any questions about the rules, be sure to read the complete list of rules under our page tab for "Challenge Rules". Because our ultimate goal is to honor God, we have no other choice but to delete any entries that do not adhere to our guidelines. Please know that this doesn't mean we are judging anyone. We're simply attempting to honor God and follow His rules. Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your understanding and participation!
