Challenge #134 - Anything Goes

This week's scripture is Nehemiah 9:6 and it talks about how God, and God alone, has made the heavens and all that exists.  There is SO MUCH God has created that we can enjoy.  But just seeing it all with our eyes isn't enough.  Once we truly comprehend the the AMAZING abilities the Lord, Jesus Christ - our God possesses and has used to create with His mighty hands, the more blessed we will become.  All that the heavens and earth contain for us were spoken into existence by Him.  Next time you look at a beautiful sunset, a majestic mountain range, the waves of the ocean, etc., take time to remember that God created these things for us to enjoy simply because He loves us SO VERY MUCH.  He wants us to enjoy it, but He also wants us to understand that He is holy, and that all glory and honor belongs to Him for being the mighty Creator He is.  And with all that this world has for us to behold......it is NOTHING to what He has waiting for us in Heaven.  We are SO very blessed!

Challenge #133 - Anything Goes

Hello, friends!  I apologize for this post being late.  My life is a bit crazy right now as my Dad is in his final days (maybe weeks) of life.  I took a weekend trip to see him, and I hope to get back again before he's gone to be with the Lord.  I am truly sorry that I've been late with my post, and not making comments as usual.  Please know that I appreciate you all SO MUCH, and our entire team thanks you for playing along in our challenges.

This week's verse is Psalm 18:46 and it really speaks to me right now.  I often wonder how people get through life's struggles without the Lord in their lives.  Jesus Christ is ALIVE, and He is my ROCK, and I will continue to EXALT His holy and precious name in ANY circumstance.  I pray that you all have this same peace in your hearts.  This is what separates Christianity from all other religions or cults.  We serve a LIVING Savior, and He wants so desperately to be the ROCK that you lean on in times of trouble.  He also loves to hear you exalt His name, and call out to praise Him.  Life will always have its struggles for each of us, but God is faithful; and because HE IS ALIVE, it allows Him to be that solid ROCK on whom we can lean.  He will hold us up when we feel like we can't stand on our own.  I don't know about you, but I couldn't possibly get through life without leaning on that rock.  I know that my Dad, along with the loved ones you have either lost, or are possibly even dealing with now, NEED THAT ROCK.  It's alright to talk about death.  There's nothing to fear when a person has placed their trust in what Jesus Christ did on the cross.  They can KNOW that they will soon be out of pain, and experiencing an eternity of things that "no eye has seen, and no ear has heard".  We can't even fathom the things He has waiting for us in Heaven.  PRAISE GOD, the LIVING ROCK who we can exalt in our lives every day - yesterday, today, and for all eternity!

Challenge #132 - Anything Goes

Welcome back!  We have some WONDERFUL things to share with you this week.  We have TWO amazing sponsors again this week - Your First Stamp and The Flying Unicorn Store.  AND...the Design Team Members of The Flying Unicorn Store have created some GORGEOUS samples for you all using our word art/scripture for this week along with some of the LOVELY supplies you can find at The Flying Unicorn.  We are SO BLESSED to have BOTH of these wonderful sponsors, and to have these talented artists join us this week.   All kinds of fun is planned, and we're excited to share it with you.  You're really going to be blessed!

Our word art/scripture this week is Philippians 2:13, and it tells us that it is God who works in us - both to will and to do of his good pleasure.  This means that when we are in submission to God, and desiring to serve Him and please Him and live for Him, that He will give us the will (or desire) to do those things (practice daily actions) that please Him and bring glory and honor to His precious name.  When a person isn't saved, or isn't walking with God, they don't possess the desire (the will) to perform actions that are pleasing to Him.  We also need to remember that while our willingness to do what is right not only pleases God, but it blesses and pleases us as well.  We've all experienced those times in life when we acted in our flesh, and just HAD to do it OUR WAY.  We let our stubborn spirits fulfill the lusts of our flesh, and do what we WANTED to do.  Those times, at least for me, never turn out well, and have consequences that can be far-reaching.  But then, when we look back on the times when we were in submission to Him and we allowed Him to work in our lives, and we allowed ourselves to act out HIS PERFECT WILL (even when it's difficult), we can see how it brings Him good pleasure; and in turn, also brings us good pleasure.  There are also far-reaching BLESSINGS for "doing of his good pleasure".  Walking with Him and making life choices that honor Him will bless Him while blessing ourselves.  That's when we really learn the JOY of Christian living.
